I never heard a 4x8 cab before and it was only $200. The guys there suggested throwing a 115 under it. I think the cab was older as it was beat up.
A few days ago I asked Don about a second Faital 115 at 4 ohms to run my Mesa at 2 ohms and he said there would be too much bass and volume. Then I thought of 2 12/6 cabs and Don said they would be very hifi sounding.
I like the Mesa through my 2 Bergantino HD112'S. There is an impressive amount of bass and low mids from the cabs that make the Mesa sound phenomenal.

). A 3012HO moves a hair more air & is 2.5dB more sensitive than a pair of 8PR200s. And a pair of 8PR200 28 cabs has a 2-ohm load leaving you w/many fewer amp choices than the 4-ohm load from a pair of 3012HOs (whether it's a 212 or 2 x 112). And if it's a 212, you save even more because it's a single box rather the 2 separate boxes of a 2 x 28. The only real, true advantages of a 2 x 28, from my perspective, are the smaller footprint, the "coolness" factor 
(& they do look pretty cool), & the amazed looks you'd get from g*****ists & other bassists when they heard what these 2 little boxes could produce
