Looks virtually identical to the diagram for a fEarful 12/12/6/1 to me. Except only that the positions of the waveguide and the mid driver are reversed...

Naw, no suggestion at all....just curious as I'm on the fence as whether to have a 212/6 or 15/6 built.
Curious as to weight as well.

Whew! OK, here is a GOOOOOOOD one! This is a 1212/6/1 with the 3012LF's, the 18Sound 6.5 mid driver (800hz), and my new favorite, the Eminence 1001 Titanium tweeter (4K).... Ralf Patterson custom crossover.
First, while the Selenium Don uses in many cabs is awesome in its own right, I (and others) thought that tweeter was a bit too aggressive and sizzly in the context of the warm, fat, smooth tone of these particular cabs with the mid driver. The Eminence is a bit lower db but also seems smoother and a bit more organic. I love it, Don loves it, Ralf loves it!
Red... RED!!!!! I love it. Again, the Puma500 ROCKS with this cab, and at 4ohms, it really rocks.
I am uploading a clip as we speak (I'll post a link in an hour or so, or you can just click on my link in my sig later today if you want to hear it with the Sadowsky), and you will hear the amazing low end... NO compression or drop-off all the way down to the open B. This cab is a touch under 70 pounds, and sounds like it should weigh 200!

When I put in the order, I asked for a fEarful 1212/6/1. I am by no means an expert in the fEarful specs. I believe that (in addition to what has been noted already) he made it slightly taller (an smaller in either the width or height). Or there are two size variants, and I went with the taller option.
My thinking was that taller would make it easier to put in the back seat of my Mercury Marquis.
Everything else I left to Don's discretion. Sometimes it's best to let the experts do their thing.

I love my cab from Don. Absolutely love it. I found myself, however, turning the Selenium tweet almost completely off. Entirely too much treble and "clack." The Eminence changes all that. The install took about 5 minutes (and I'm an electronics idiot.) Don uses spade connectors on the Selenium, which I clipped. Strip some wire, insert into the Eminence spring-loaded terminals, screw it back it. The waveguide from the Selenium is a perfect match. The eminence is significantly heavier, but the overall weight won't increase dramacitally.
The tone is just as Ken described. Much more organic, even wide open.

How would I go about the xover/bi-amping for the 15/6/1 cab?
Do I have to take out the passive crossover? Cause I'd kinda like that for when I just run a bass head, right? I'm confused how this would work...

You'd need to probably set up a DPDT switch to disable the built in crossover and change the speakons to biamp mode (1+/1 for lows 2+/2- for highs).
I'd pay someone to do it, myself, as it seems a little complicated. Don could probably do it if there's room on your jackplate.

Another question. I noticed the "beaming limit" for the mid driver is around 2500hz. Wouldn't one want to crossover the HF section around that area then? Or am I wrong on that account...
Ya, but then you'd need a real xover... the fEarful design takes advantage of the roll off of the mid to the horn to allow a simpler High Pass for the horn... also horns that sound good that low are generally big and heavy compared to the design.
I think you might be thinking about this too much. Beaming at 2.5K, and you are amplifying a bass guitar. That issue would be about 999 on my list of 1000 things to think about
.These cabs with a good passive crossover and 500 or so watts sound very, very good. All the hooha will get you the additional 1%.
For bass guitar purposes the 18 sound probably is intelligible up to 3500hz or so, roughly, from what I recall reading.
For PA purposes, you'd want to cross it over to a HF section no higher than 3500hz, probably a smidgen lower.
For bass purposes, I wouldn't worry about it. You can even with proper design (see duke LeJeune's crossover) just high pass a horn on there in a way that blends with the rolloff of the MF driver.
I'm sure I am, haha, but I like to do that sometimes.
I just thought if it beams at 2.5k like I saw greenboy post, and the horn is crossed at 4k, there would be a 1.5k gap off-axis!
Haha, I realize in the practical world, it probably doesn't make a huge difference.
