I am thinking of going with black duratex when Don calls about startin mine. I have Avatar's version of that, and it seems durable.
Can black duratex be touched up to look decent when you ding it, or would it look like a real obvious patch?

Don's spray on bedliner stuff is, bar none, the toughest stuff I've ever had on a cab.

For heavily gigged cabs in poplar, I agree. I've heard people saying Don might be willing to use 1/2" birch these days, in which case I think duratex would be sufficient.

The durability of the bed liner is apparantly moot now. Don says the vendor he uses can't get the problems sorted out so for the time being at least, it is no longer an option. That's why I ended up with tweed.
Yeah, I asked the question due to billhilly sayin Don is still havin problem's with the bedliner guy. I would prefer it but I think he is giving up on it?
The guys that spray on the bedliner-like finish are having the same problems that many businesses have here in Michigan - not enough business to stay in business. I do believe Don can do the Duratex finish. Not quite as durable as bedliner, but better than rat fur.

omgomg, I should be getting my cab in this week. Next week at latest. The question is what day will it arrive!!?! I'm dying here!!! Been wanting one of the fearful cabs for like a year.....
Looks like you pulled it all out! Just remember those woosie retailers like MF and GC might give you tracking numbers but all you get is woofers and tweeters. Don might not let you know when it's gonna get there but it will be 3 way!
My LDS 15/6/1 arrived yesterday!!! Tried it at wife-has-a-headache volume for a short while and really liked what I heard but tonight's full band practice should give me a better idea of how it'll fit in the mix!!
The pedals are why Don recommended this configuration, BTW!!

I'll pull the grill tomorrow and take some photos. It's supposed to have round ports so is probably not "shelf-ported" if I'm guessing what that means correctly.
Ryoshi, the club's sound guy, said we had to give him a head's up to get the house cab stored off the stage, so we couldn't bring the big fellow in. Hopefully this Monday we'll get to run the Monster with my buddy/teacher George Panos' Carvin BX1500 at the club.
I have a feeling I might sell it regardless of how good it is. I just bought 4 GK 112 Neo ll cabs, and they're perfectly good for me, and the 4 stacked horizontally play well with my Mesa 400+. They also kill stacked 2 high vertically with my WW Ultra. The Monster is a solution to a problem I don't have.
Mine was ordered March 10 and I received it less than a week ago, if that helps you get some idea what your timeframe should be.If I don't get my cab this week I might be a little angry
