Yeah mine was early april. It's just irritating because he said he was about to ship, then I called back a week later and he said he forgot something and he'll install it and ship it the next day hopefully... still dont even know if that means it's shipped :(

I am like a 10 year old kid 4 weeks before Christmas too, as Don has told me mine was one of the cabs he was startin last week. That may mean I will take delivery in a few more weeks, or, (I hope otherwise), a few more months.
Bottom line is when I get it, my monster 1515/66 nEarful will have cost less than a grand, have excellent attention to detail, and if issues arise, I feel confident resolution will be satisfactory. Old school American craftsman with a home shop as has been reported previously.
I knew I was not ordering a factory product, and would not have wanted a MB or GK or whoever 2x15 with a tweeter.
Don is a principled guy with excellent intentions and is not gettin rich off any of us. He is a bass player like us and no spring chicken in his 1 man shop. So I am waiting patiently.
When CDWeller said he was gonna cancel his order as he was tired of waiting, I e-mailed and called Don to be 1st in line for the 1515/66 cab CD was gonna pass on.
Don asked me to contact CD on Talkbass and explain he had no phone number to let him know his cab was done.
He said he did not want to leave anybody hangin.
I have complete confidence he will leave nobody hangin.

Recently I acquired a Euphonic Audio iAMP Pro to use with my LDS cabs. I'm very impressed with the amp. The tone is incredibly rich, thick, accurate, and flexible. The 600 watts per 8ohm channel is just want I needed. All under 10 pounds.

For lower volume gigs I use it with an LDS 12/6 near-fEarful cab.

For higher volume gigs I use it with an LDS 15/6 near-fEarful cab.

When I want to be exuberant, I use it with both cabs.

I would think there would be some good synergy going on there.

I hope the low end on the iAmp Pro is closer to the iAmp-600 I have than the iAmp-800, though or it could become overwhelming rather quickly, esp. in a lot of not-so-acoustically-ideal venues that I tend to run across while gigging.
My 600 is nice and tight in the lows.

I do like the EA better, mainly because the 8ohm wattage is 600 instead of 375. The ShuttleMAX12 also has a channel w/tube pre but I was gravitating mainly to FET only so I don't miss that much. Not sure how to quantify this, but the EA seems a bit more "musical." But both are excellent amps.

My first gig with the EA happened a couple hours after the amp arrived. I barely had time to figure out basic EQ before jumping into the fire. I paired it with my 12/6 in a quieter setting with an acoustic guitar. EA is demonstrated in videos of "Deprivation" and "Jamaican Blue" (the first two). Recorded with an AT-825 stereo mic into a digital recorder.

Deprivation sounds a little like misirlou at times :D

So the next cab I have ordered is a 3012HO with really low horn xover @ 1.2khz.
Also asked for biamp switch so I could do that too if I want, the xover is for when I just wanna carry around a mini amp instead of a 4 space rack.

I plan to use it for a lot of things. Studio monitor, live sound monitor, and a smaller gig/PA cab. I wonder how it will sound with my double bass... :cool:

Basically a PA cab that I'll use for PA, monitors, and bass.

This is a cool concept...kinda like a Thunderchild knockoff ;) You might want to explore having Duke design you a crossover for that guy (no idea if this is something he'd do or not), as his horn crossover skills are pretty elite.

That 3012HO + bighorn sounds to me like a very interesting cabinet; I've done some work with that format, but for a different application.

Don's work is excellent, and the value he offers is outstanding. On the other hand it takes me a long time to design a crossover, which makes my involvement unlikely to be cost-effective for a one-of-a-kind custom project, and I'm picky enough that I'd probably want to have input on the choice of horn. Don already has excellent crossover design resources; however, I'm not ruling out the possibility of some cooperation between us at some point, if it makes sense for all parties.

I will agree that when engaged Ralf does great work :) The problem is unless you are really explicit about it Don will give you the Eminence stock crossovers, so I always try to encourage people to take part in the crossover selection part of their cabinets' design.

One other portion of the project you might be able to lend a little expertise to is selecting a good horn driver and horn for this type of project, if you don't mind - I realize of course that you need to make a living too so might not be in your interests to make suggestions here :)
