I didn't like the igig bag. I use a mono producer bag to carry my tecamp. To me, it's just something about having all that weight added to my gigbag. I like nothing but my bass and cables in same bag.

I like the Mono bag, but I'm really not a fan of the Body Glove bag that came with my second LEJ...no biggie though - it keeps the bass nice.
I had the igig for a while too and while its great to have all that storage, I ultimately decided having a light bag was more important to me so I now use the Mono...both great bags though.
on another note i'm lusting after that daphne blue relic'ed LEJ thats on the low end site right now...
Personally, totally IMHO, I don't see the appeal of a relic'ed bass, especially since they usually cost more. I can chip the paint all by myself-for free!
Just to update Y'all, I was at the Low End Bass shop on friday and spent a few minutes jamming with some of the low end p's, and the 33'' scale j's. I must say that I was really impressed with the p's, great, powerful tone. The 4 string LEJ in particular caught my fancy, as it is the P with a J neck that I am looking for. The 33'' LEJ's were very impressive, with great B's, and possible the easiest 5 string neck of all time. I am hoping to score the 4 string P whenever my tax return shows up-that and the NS Design 4 string EUB that Brian is selling-just beautiful!
I must say I was surprised to see these 33" LEJ 5'vers.
You can attribute the good B string to the stable-tough-as-nails 3 piece neck, I bet.
When not playing, I use mine for home protection al-la El Kabong style.
(and if you don't know who El' Kabong was, then you're too young).
Try the 33" with the 5 piece "B" neck. Mine is UNREAL. wenge/maple with ebony board.

So has anyone experimented with tapewounds on their LEJ? I'm not sure I dig the Thomastik flats on my 6/21. I'm toying with the idea of tapes...
I've gotta try flats on mine.... but I love the tone with Sadowsky Blue Steels.....

I played the LEP with FLATs @ NAMM and love the Sadowsky Blue Steel XL Strings strung through the body...
Anyone string flats thru body?
Right now the LEJ I have has Lakland round wounds on it; but have no idea what the combination of strung on bridge and flat would mean to my bass' sound. I personally like the idea of thru body when possible.
I have a 5er if that makes a difference. That B string is tough sometimes.

From my experience, I'd string the B through the body and possibly the rest on the tail piece with FLATS...
Just picked this up today, can anyone shed some light on it??
How can i find out when it was made and stuff??

I bought this off the chap above.
Initially sounded good but the action was far too high for me and the relief was too much. I was told the truss rod was maxed out so I changed the strings for .40s and the relief settled down.
It always amazes me how some people have their basses set up- really seemed unplayable.
For me it always takes a little time to really get used to a bass but once these adjustments were made and the action lowered that was that. The action will go a lot lower but it is great fro me.My favourite bass I have had in 30+ years. Kills my Fender Jazz deluxe 5.
The pre amp is vol/vol/treble/mid/bass- the two volumes are pull out for parallel/in series and the bass pot pulls for passive.
I tend to use the mid control most of the way up with the treble and bass flat. Really punchy tone, this one certainly growls and bites. Plays absolutely superb- I paid £700 for it and it kills my Warwick thumb NT 5 in every way and this was a £2400 bass.
Superb slap tone- very 70s ( I dont like the modern scooped sizzling tone you often hear on youtube ). Crazy warm fingerstyle tone- the sound that has been in my head fro 30+ years!!
Looks great as well.
