i'm contemplating having an LEPJ 5 built...I'm thinking Trans Midnight wine over Ash with a matching headstock, pearloid PG and blocks and a rosewood board. What says the LE faithful. Sound like a good idea? :)

So I think I decided i'm going to take the plunge and have my LEPJ made...well, once I save up enough cash that is. I talked to brian and he's going to put in a switch that will shut off one of the pups in the "P" pickup so that I can sort of switch between a J and a PJ. how sweet is that?? Now if I can just sell those basses I have up in the classifieds!!

Just a word to thank Brian for what I consider extraordinary customer service. I bought a LEJ prototype here on TB a few months ago and its 19 frets weren't enough. I contacted Brian for a trade (He did express the wish to have the protoype back). Being a new dad I could not afford dishing out the cash needed for another LEJ. I litteraly bombarded Brian with mails concerning different trade deals and everytime, he answered promptly and with a real willingness to help me find the best bass. He eventually agreed to a 3 way deal. Thanks Brian, I never experienced such availability and eagerness to please customers as you showed in the last few months! I know his basses are incredible and as soon as I'm able, I'll add one of his to my arsenal!

So its official...i ordered my LEPJ. Here are the specs:

LEPJ
5/21
Ash body
Rosewood board with Pearl Blocks
Pearliod guard
Screws in pick guard for pup-cover (I already have a cover)
Dunlop locks
vol-blend setup
Switch to shut off one of the P-pups (switch between JJ and PJ)
Deep red wine trans finish

I attached a VERY lame attempt at a photoshop of the bass (but it will have a matching headstock).

I'm pumped! :hyper:

that sounds like a really sweet bass. Will the bridge pickup be a true single coil?

I actually think they will all be the slimbuckers...not sure if that's just because of the switch i'm having put in or if that's the normal way Brian makes them. I'm not a fan of hum either way so its fine by me!
