This cab helps w/the prostate decongestion. Sonic enima.
The 'extra' depth (compared to what standard?) makes the cabinet larger, and more internal volume extends low frequency response. But most cabs are far too small for their driver compliment anyway. The BXR 2x12 neo is about 5 cubic feet net volume. The Deltalite 2512s inside require 3.7 cu ft for optimal loading-each. So despite the 'extra' depth the box is still too small. Depending on the tuning frequency f3 is likely around 55Hz, and f10 38Hz. Output at 30 Hz is what the industry refers to as 'useable', though what useable actually means is up for debate.

This doesn't mean that the cab isn't better in the low end that what you're comparing it with, as a 55Hz f3 Hz is still better than the average box. For instance, an SVT is about the same.

honest the specs are, but on the site he claims 36 Hz. It does not say at what -db,
Unfortunately at what -dB is the only pertinent information. The 102dB spec is most likely at 1kHz, which is of no value.

Agreed. Plus, anything lower usually sounds very poor if indoors at high volumes.

I honestly don't care about your "personal interests" and to what company it applies, if any, even if you are a mod. It still means you've got not a terrible lot to do if you have to try and thrash on somebody every time the option presents itself.

It depends on if you can EQ it correctly or not. The guys I like listening to use 18's quite often and when I see them live and on recordings, it sounds good. We don't need huge volumes b/c it's just me on stage with an amp. And as said before, my band loves the rumble on stage. We don't do the typical 40+ cover gigs like the majority of people here, so an 18 just might work for me AND sound good! :D
 
I think a lot of confusion is spread by the abreviated specs that manufacturers use. a cab with 103db sensitivity 1watt/1 meter that has a bandwidth of 30hz to 2500 hz is not 103db at 30hz. Most cabs have a frequency repsonse profile that looks like an m or an n. There is a bump that slopes off rapidly to nothing towards the low end then a midrange dip, and another bump in the high mid. most of the energy is in the midrange, this is where the 1w/1m spec is measured. The cab is more likely 70 or 80db 1w/1m at 30-10hz.
If you read the fine print the specs will often say band limited pink noise or sine wave, without specing what the bandwidth they tested at was? 100-450? 1k-4k? Or I have even seen product guides with different specs for different cabs, one is tested a 1w/1m, the next one at 2w/1m. Ever wonder why cabs with tweeters always have higher SPL ratings? Its because the compression driver is extremely efficient at mid to high freqs when compared to a mere paper cone driver. the response is very treble heavy, but it READS on paper as having 106 db of sensitivity!

You shouldn't have to read fine print, and in the vast majority of cases it isn't there any way. A 106dB spec is like a 50 MPG EPA rating on a car, it sure looks impressive, but if it was measured with the car going downhill with a 60 mile per hour tail wind what good is it?
 
The published Eminence data sheets for their various drivers are quite informative.

The driver response is measured in a controlled environment and the testing method is documented. Loading the driver into a vented box will boost the bottom end a bit, but the majority of the response is what you see in the published plots.

You can expect a +6dB efficiency gain from two drivers wired in parallel, or 4 drivers wired in series/parallel. There is no loudness advantage in a 4-ohm 2x10 vs an 8-ohm 4x10. The 4x10 handles more total power.

If you really want more noise than a 4x10, use a pair of 2x10, one on each amp channel.

For example, the new Polyimide-based B102 10" driver is about 93 dB from 150 to 1000 Hz. A 2x10 or 4x10 could expect an honest 99 SPL 1w/1m from this driver.
