28 Hz down 24dB from average maybe. Claimed bandwidth without a measured SPL chart to back it up is just so much hooey.

Bergie HT 322 goes to 36 hz at 102 DB (probabally at the -3 DB standard, but does not give a rating on that). I believe my HT 210 (older model) goes down to the same at 100 DB, and its plenty low for me. I play a 5er standard tuned, and for one song use a octave down effect. For gigs with only my 210, it handles the effect surprisingly well, only degrading the octave down low B (at high volumes). I also use a Mesa 400+. But in reality what you are actually able to hear is more the midrange. In a big gig, you can't really hear the fundamental, although you can feel it. There are simply too many freqs at high volumes masking the fundamental, unless you have some crazy folded horn cabs. In that case you still will not be able to hear the fundamental, but the audience will feel it.

Well as far as loud, I'm the only amplified instrument on stage or in practice, so that's covered- and as far as tightness, I don't need it that much for the sound I'm after, and I'll have a nice 12 or 15 or 210 on top to round out the sound a little.

Ahh, not having to fight for freq's on stage with a guitardist is friggin awesome. :D

Well aren't you effin' special.:D

I think I could like an 18 if I was playing funk or lighter-rock, but my 1820 isn't tight or punchy enough for the sound I'm after. I could see where a 1x18 and a 4x10 could get me there, but it would have to be bi-amped so I could dial down the 18 a touch.

Haha, just remembered you're a fellow hcbffer incognito (but not really, i guess huh?) ;)

Yeah man, having no electric guitar on stage is probably the best feeling in the world. My singer wants to add a jazz piano to our 3-piece, but the drummer and I are fighting it tooth and nail- we like the bumpin'! ;)

And yeah I'm moving more towards that sound as we're not doing the gigs with half rock-cover and half originals, that are 3 1/2 hours long and moving "up" if you can call it that to the 1 hr, 1 1/2 hr sets of just originals with a Sublime tune or two thrown in for good measure. ;) It's definitely the sound we're going for. My band is pumped for me to get this sub in.

Yes, I'd still go with the IP series, but to be honest, I keep going back and forth between the three of them (yes, the IP112/EX112 with the new program is definitely in the running!). The low end from these cabs is stupefying (yet tight, clear and controlled). Plus, they just sound betteracross the board than dang near anything else I have tried.

I understand the -10db aspect of the 30hz claim. Could the fact that the cab is 20" deep contribute to the extra low end that I feel w/this cab Bill? If not, what in your opinion does the extra depth do for this cab?

This cab helps w/the prostate decongestion. Sonic enima.
