Luck Duck doesn't give refunds, 8 Bit Duck is AWFUL

so, this thing is a piece of crap. i don't like trashing builders or their products, but when i contacted him and politely asked if mine was broken because no WAY could he think it was a good idea to release a pedal with such a loud, obnoxious, always on carrier signal...... he said that's just how sample rate reducers work. which is funny. because my Malekko Bit didn't, my Bug Crusher doesn't, my cheap as butts Mooer LoFi Machine doesn't, the Mobius doesn't, the Hexe Bit Crusher doesn't, the IE FrantaBit doesn't....... i'm sure i'm missing a few that i've owned or had on loan that don't add in an even more horrible version of the hum that so many of us spend hundreds of dollars on cables and power supplies to avoid.......

then, even though he doesn't state this anywhere on his site, he said he doesn't do refunds. for some asinine reasons that are true of every smaller builder i've ever bought from. and 99% of the smaller guys out there KILL THEMSELVES to give amazing customer service. even with pedals that they made that somebody bought second hand, so they have zero profit in it at that point. BriBri from SS/BS/DFAS, Taylor from IE, Matt from W&C, Ryan from Dr. Scientist, Ryan from Fuzzrocious..... all awesome people that make getting esoteric pedals a ****ing JOY.

after bristling Luck Duck guy offered me a refund, minus 30 percent. bite me. stand behind your product or don't.

yeah. i am NOT taking a partial refund on it from him. you either stand behind your product or you don't. and there's a "no refund/maybe refund for minus A THIRD" on his site now, was NOT there when i ordered.

but sure. if it ends up where PayPal can't get my money back and i get burned, i can send it out to you i guess. i don't want the piece of ****. i'll let you know when it's resolved.

seriously. practically everybody i've ever interacted with that's a smaller or even the bigger builders? purely awesome people. with so much love into what they do.

i've had pedals i didn't love, and they always did SOMEthing cool. this is just...... garbage.

Ben, dude. Apex Twin did a whole song with a sound like that, and at first I was all "that's painful, what a terrible sound", but then later I was like "it's kind of cool even though I don't ever want to hear that sound again". DO YOU HATE APHEX TWIN???

But seriously, that does sound kinda awful. Too bad, it sounded good in between the whining and screaming. Did the designer really hear how loud the carrier bleed is on your unit and still respond as he did?

saw the video: I have a WMD Geiger Counter and have owned a Montreal Assembly: Wrong Side Of Uranus and it NEVER made that sound (unless I wanted it to)

get a Geiger Counter and you can sample reduce and bit crush FOR DAYS!
