Is this one the smallest pedal doing this kind of thing WELL you think?
I am not after plenty features and quite happy for a pedal to do one thing really well.
Well, generally speaking I agree, but if a vendor or producer has been given every chance to set things right but respond in a bad way then I'm actually all for pulling their pants down in public. It's consumer awareness and information I want so I don't have to make the same mistake.
It works both ways really, just look at the fantastic PR some customer oriented pedal builders get here. If you're smart you can benefit hugely, if you're not you can create badwill and it will hurt your business.

+1 as long as the builder is given sufficient chance to give a reasonable resolution. I don't feel in this case the resolution offered was reasonable. If the response was more along the lines of 'I understand that the sound of this pedal isn't for everyone' and full refund offered, the builder in question would have been given a good wrap.
It's all about how you handle the situation. You can turn a negative customer experience into a positive one by listening, assisting where you can, and going out of your way to understand the customer's concerns.
I am sure many of the fantastic builders that frequent these pages have been in similar situations where a buyer has not been happy with a product. The good ones would have handled it much differently though.
And Spencer from 3Leaf Audio. He's in that category.

Seems like the Builder knew noise was an issue. I'd be pissed, too. I wonder if the OP got the "old" or "new" version.

Yeah screw that. I've had builders make me TOTALLY CUSTOM things before, and still offer to fix it for free or full refund when I had problems with it. For this guy to claim no refunds on his STANDARD F***ING MODEL is some BS. And then for him to say that that insane whining noise is NORMAL? Not on any bit crusher/SRR I've ever played (which is a half dozen at least).
Screw him, you can't get away with treating customers that way nowadays, the internet will bite bad customer service in the ass.

While it is unfortunate that the pedal didn't work out for you...it does state on the website that he does not issue refunds...
He only put that up after this blow up with Behndy. When he bought the pedal (and even when Behndy first starting talking about this crap), the page didn't say anything about refunds at all. If he tries to claim that Behndy should have known that he doesn't offer refunds, then he's being a slimy cheat. But you can't fool the internet, it remembers all:

Simple noise might be OK for this kind of pedal. Watch the OP's video. The pedal is clearly defective, when he turns it on it has a high pitched squeal that makes it unusable.
Not liking a pedal or having a slight background noise are totally different than the pedal producing a steady loud tone when activated. Its obviously a defect and the builder should take care of it.

That is pretty lame! I don't feel so bad now, he should of had it stated on his website from the beginning. IMO the builder should of taken the loss and made it right instead of offering the discounted refund. 1 loss in sale isn't worth a bed reputation.
i'm not either. if you look through my channel, there's a buttload of demo clips where i don't do anything but accentuate the positive of pedals i'm demo'ing. i know a lot of builders, i respect the HELL out of them. it's hard work, not a lot of profit, a crowded market... and all of them are doing things that they love that help me do stuff that i love.
this is the first builder i've ever bashed publicly. it is NOT okay for someone to treat their customers like this. and i just wanted to have a true picture of how he deals with problems and what his pedal actually sounds like out there.
oh Spencer is ****ing AWESOME too. so is Douglas from Darkglass... there's SO MANY good guys in the game. lol. it's actually hard to remember them all. i think like 99% of the guys in the pedal game are peaches. why give money to the few that are asses?
for straight sample rate reduction the Bug Crusher is my favoritest ever. that thing is a BEAST. the one i have is a little bit noisy in my chain, so i use it for recording and i'm on a search for a live board one. the Mooer LoFi Machine is surprisingly good. the crusher on it sucks, and the SRR side doesn't have as much range as most. the Malekko Bit was REALLY GOOD, except the first run ones had a slight tone and volume drop. he said he fixed it, that's what i'm trying to grab one of next.
YAHP. thanks for that link Chiefy! i wouldn't have bought from him if he had No Refunds on his site anywhere. i just wouldn't trust the quality of a pedal if the builder doesn't believe in it enough to cover it.
look at the SmallSound/BigSound (just off the top of my head example). i know three people that have bought his pedals used, had an issue, and he fixed it for free. hell, i know one where he basically gutted the pedal and put a whole new pedal inside the existing box. and those where on pedz that he wasn't making any money off of that person owning it.
THAT'S service that makes me a lifelong customer and gush with happiness about how awesome they are. this is the exact opposite.
Yeah BriBri fixed a TAFM for me, for free, that I bought used. It was some custom weirdness. He essentially put all new guts in my pedal.

EXACTLY. i can't say enough good things about that guy. and so many builders are great people that it really sticks out when someone's an ass. why support them when there are so many better options out there

i did talk to this guy politely at first and i think i gave him every chance to make it right. he.... doesn't seem to agree with me on what is right in this situation. his prerogative.

Last year I was very close to getting a BIT but then I heard from a few people that Malekko products are not well made and don't last...that kept me from it.
The size is ideal...
The bugbrand one is also tempting-the price makes it attractive I recon.

the Bug i have is pretty close to that size. and i think they make a micro one? some people have put them in a bypass loop and hid them under their board.
the Franta is very cool too. it was just more than i needed. all of IE's pedals are ridiculously versatile. cover soooooooo much range. but that was the problem for me, i need just a simple SRR. so i'd get knocked off what i wanted and it'd be a pain to get back to it.

I've never seen a post by Ben (behndy) trashing anyone, so when he posts something like this... I pay attention.
Edit: Being a SF Bay Area resident, I have also had the pleasure of doing biz with Ben personally and can confirm he's a very chill dude!
