They are not for everyone but I tend to keep at least one bass strung with flats.

For some types of music they won't work and perhaps that's what you're finding right now. Down the track if you're playing different genres you may well change your mind, I know I did.

There are so many songs out there recorded with flats that I don't understand why people think they need to try them in order to know what they sound like. You know what they sound like and you either need/want that sound or you don't.
