You can store entire patches consisting of amps and effects correct?

What I'm getting at is can you have three different compressor settings that change with the program? Or any effect for the matter.

I bought a Kemper to try and just don't like the overall sound for bass. I do love the idea of being able to change sounds completely for different songs or fretted and fretless.

Yes you can, you have 1 slot for the amp model, 1 slot for the cabinet (which you don't use unless you are not using an actual cabinet) then 6 other slots are open for effects, compressors, EQ, noise suppression, etc. I just got the foot controller, so now I go between 8 different setups while playing. Quite different from having a regular amp with an effects loop and outboard effects because this allows you to switch between amp models as well. There's ALOT of possibilities with this thing, you can drive yourself nuts building different sounds. That's where I am right now - in the land of patch-building obsession

I ordered the Multiamp with the idea of trying it out - and if I didn't like it I would send it back. After 10 minutes I knew I had to keep it.

Yeah - me too...
I am having some trouble - I can't use the editing software - my computer doesn't "see" the Multiamp, and sometimes it doesn't boot up all the way at start up - I just get the "Mark Bass Multiamp" logo and nothing else happens - I have to turn it off and on again.
BTW - what are the adjustments (there are 2) in the Amp Slots? What do they do?

Gotta say - it sounds awesome - what are tubes for again? KIDDING! just kidding...

I can't seem to load the 3rd firmware update. I've downloaded on two different computers and unzipped it. I then transferred it to the sd card and when I insert into the amp it doesn't recognize the update. I am looking for some help. Is there another way to do this?

It's running now. Make sure you're using a 8GB or less SD card and just put the dsp.ldr and MLTA_P24.hex files at the top level of the SD card. The way they have the instructions written, it seems like you copy and paste the folder, not the contents of the folder.

I've been drooling the multiamp now for 8 months and going to buy the "mono" version of the amp in 1-2 months...

Does anybody know can I use it with just one cab but not in bridge mode?

Thats because I'd love to use just one EBS classic 12" cab (8ohms 250w) when going to a gig. Those things are tiny and easy!
And multiamp mono has 2 outputs for 300w in 8ohms and bridge 500w in 4ohms.

And more importantly can I use the di output at the same time as I am using the cab. The cab would be my stage monitor and di to PA.

Also I'm new to the site, so hello!

Last but not least I noticed that markbass has now 2015 model of the multiamp. Master level and patch level knob!

The mono is like any other mon camp out there. One power amp, just use one output and you have 300W into 8 ohms. With the two outputs, consider that like a splitter right after the power amp. It just makes it easier to hook up two 8 ohm cabs. Yes, you can use the DI with the amp running, or you can use the DI without anything hooked to the amp.

Do you know is there a reason why the 2 other outputs are not with speakon connector?

My ebs 12" has a tweeter and only speakon connection so with jack to speakon cable, I'm not able to use the tweeter right?

I've tested the multiamp twice in a shop and it's amazing. I wonder why there is no competition. Tc Electronic could probably easily do one. Kemper and Axe are a bit different machines.

Oh, I thought the mono version had two speakons, but it looks like they have a single speakon and two 1/4" jacks probably to keep things the same between the mono and S versions. I looked at the manual and the output jacks are all wired in parallel. So, use the speakon connector to your cab and ignore the 1/4" jacks. Most cabs have a second jack so if you want to drive two 8 ohms cabs, just go speakon from the amp to the cab, and then second speakon cable from the first cab to the second. Remember, two 8 ohm cabs only. Two 4 ohm cabs will give a 2 ohm effective load and could damage the amp.

Wow paraller universe! So the output power is determined in the multiamp interface? Like.. "choose output 300w 8ohms" ?

Ok here's the fun part. I have an old 4x10" Trace Elliot cab 300w 8ohms and I want to use that and the EBS Classic 12" at the same time. Trace has jack and Ebs has speakon. Can I get them work with multiamp and I want to use the speakon with Ebs.

No, the power is the power, period. Definitely check out the manual. The three jacks are the same thing as if there were only one jack and you plugged something like an extension cord for speakers into it. All the outputs are in parallel. So you can use any two outputs with 8 ohm cabs only or any one output with a single 8 ohm or a single 4 ohm cab.

If they're both 8 ohms, it will work, but I'm skeptical that they will be a great match. Never hurts to try it. Speakon / 1/4" jack cables also exist - (speakon connector on one end, 1/4" on the other"). I use one of those with a GK 700RB and a DR Bass cab.

They actually are amazing match lol! Tested them with a ebs Reidmar amp and it sounded.. quite interesting.

Ok power is power. Thanks man. Your answer really helped a lot. I'm not a big fan of the multiamp manual... it's a bit thin. I love 1000 page manuals with everything. That's the reason I turned into talkbass.com because I can't get decent info on the multiamp from anywhere.

What about then stereo version? If I want to use one cab with a speakon and one with 1/4? Not that I necessarily would, why a stereo amp doesn't have two speakon outs mystifies me..

But as I understand the 1/4 outs are 300w each /separately/ and the speakon is 1000w bridged mono.. When in bridged mode do the 1/4 outs even send signal? When in stereo mode is the speakon bypassed? It seems all a little unclear.

Also the fact there's no level knob, only a master... Sigh. I'll probably still buy it.. There's nothing better I can find..
