Also the fact there's no level knob, only a master... Sigh. I'll probably still buy it.. There's nothing better I can find..

What do you mean by level knob?

The new 2015 model has Patch Level knob.

I wait until the retail gets hold of the new models.

By level I meant there is input gain and master. I'm aware master can be selected as programmable or not, but if I want to crank up the input gain for an SVT model or such, there's no way to balance the level between patches. You're limited to using the input gain to balance levels, or forfeit the use of master as 'master' and use it to balance levels. And then hope all your gigs are the same volume... AFAIK.
Besides the POINT of a master is to have something that controls above all else. Thus the term 'master'

BUT! I'm more interested in you mentioning 2015 model?? 2015 is almost over.. How have I missed this? Do you have a link with more info??

Yay. That was my only beef with the thing. Well besides the silly output layout, but I could live with that. My carvin stack is 1/4 anyway.

Same here. I already sent few emails to couple of retailers asking for the 2015 model and no answer. Waiting is the most horrible part in gear obsessions.

This just in from Markbass about the Multiamp S choosing the speaker outs:

Thanks for writing and for choosing Markbass.

Yes, you can connect 4 ohm speaker to each speaker out to use in stere or bi-amp mode and the amps give 500W@4ohm power for each channel, connecting two 8ohm speakers it gives 300W@8ohm for each amp.

In mono/bridge mode it gives 1000W@8ohm (8ohm impedance minimum load).

First thing to do is to choose if you want use one speaker in Bridge mode, or two speakers in STEREO mode.

If you like to use the Bass Multiamp S in stereo mode, with two cabinet connected to the two speaker outputs jack on the rear panel you have to do a very simple procedure.

Go to the SYSTEM menu with the UP/DOWN buttons and press ENTER.

Select amp mode with the UP/DOWN buttons and press ENTER.

Select STEREO with the UP/DOWN buttons and press ENTER.

At the bottom of the display will appear the selected mode.

Otherwise if you want to use it in MONO/BRIDGE mode follow the above procedure and choose AMP MODE in MONO/BRIDGE.

In mono/bridge mode (you'd use the speakon output on the rear panel) minimum impedance load is 8 ohm,

It needs to be pointed out that this amp can only be used with one 8 ohm speaker in bridge mode or two speakers(4 ohm minimum per side) in stereo mode. At no time can you use one speaker in stereo mode. So for example, if you own one 4 ohm cab you will not be able to use this amp without damaging it.

Yes. With multiamp mono the case is different. No bridge mode. Either use one 4 ohm cab and the amp gives 500w or use 2 8ohm cabs 250watts per each.

I don't really have any in depth understanding of the electronic magics happening here... But why would it damage the amp (stereo) if I put a 4 ohm cab on one channel and left the other channel empty? Surely since they are two seperate amps, the one with no load would just.. Do nothing? Where the amp with a 4 ohm load would function at 500w?

Also I have a 212 and 115 I use for larger gigs. Just the 212 frequently for smaller though. ¼ inputs.
So you're telling me there's no way I could just use one speaker cabinet? Unless I bridge, buy a speakon adapter, and run 1000 watts into my 212?!? Surely not..

Can't tell you why, but I had a serious back and forth with their tech support and they were emphatic about not running only one side saying it would damage the amp.

In my situation 500watts from the mono is enough at rehearsals and we play loud. When on stage 1 250w cab is enough for monitoring and in studio it's enough.

I was speaking of the stereo version, and just because 1-250 watt cab is enough for you, doesn't mean it's near enough for me. I currently run a LMT 800 into a 2-12 and on a lot of stages I play, the volume is around 2 o'clock
