Markbass Megathread PART 3

I'm using my SABDI in front of my LMII and it sounds very good. I've not had the chance to play it at a gig, that will happen next week. I'm still addicted to the flat settings of the sansamp, just can't seem to shake it but for me it really works well with the LMII. I have a busy Christmas season booked, lots of functions, 2 to 3 a week so I'll put it through its paces. All the best....Chris P.
I was just in GC Thursday night and could've picked up an F1 for 750. Not sure if this is related to the 20% deal, as that's less than 20% off the normal selling price, but still a darn good deal. No, I didn't pick it up, but I was VERY tempted. ONLY the fact that I have the LMII and are as happy with it as I am kept me from it.

yah guys i tried everything i even went to GC and tried a few other lmII heads. i guess its just not my thing. i did try and ag500 and liked that a lot! so we'll see how t goes. thanks for all the tips.
Well today I went to the local GC and tried a LMII with my recently acquired UL-310. I had the GC salesman play while I ran the eq and filters through it's paces. By what I heard in the store, and believe me I pushed the vol pretty hard, all I can say is wow. As this might not be the right amp for a metal or hard rock situation, I sure can see one in my future. Don't get me wrong, I love my GK1001RBII. In fact I am trying the UL-310 tomorrow for the first time in a live situation with the GK. The GK is a great amp for rock, but I am looking for something smoother to use in the corporate world. If I indeed end up with a LMII, I'll probably sell the 1001RBII and still have my trusty old 400RB for the gritty stuff. I too asked the salesman if the 20% sale included Markbass. He said he didn't think so, but would talk to the manager and call me with the info.
The 1001 should sound great with the 310.

Brad, I have to tell you, and this is only from a basement test, but my 20 something yr. old 400RB actually sounds better with it. I'm not sure why. I know the two basically have the same pre, but that underpowered old dog sounds great through it while the 1001RBII sounds ehhh. The 1001 rocks with my Berg mini stack, but side by side with the UL-310 just so so to me. After playing around this afternoon, I'm taking the 400RB to the gig to try out the UL-310. Back to the original programing...... The LMII sounded quite nice with the UL310 on first listen. I don't own a T-Funk nor have I heard one per se', but knowing the T-Funk is based on the old AMP line, that was the first thing that came to mind when listening to the LMII. A bud of mine still uses his early 80's AMP rig, and it still sounds great to this day.

Has anyone used the LM-II for more aggressive music (grindcore, death metal etc)? It seems that people who like the LM-II, don't tend to play that kind music (or at least that's the picture I've formed in my head). I'm very interested in the amp, but it just might be the hype that's gotten me

I honestly don't see the LMII being the right head for that type of music, but really nobody is going to be able to tell you that other than yourself. You need to go try it out and see for yourself.

I think that with the right cab(s) it could work for that type of music. maybe with a Sansamp.
best bet would be walking into a MB vendor with your gear (bass, cab and for comparison your current head) and just try out as many of their amp models and cabs as you can.
