Markbass Megathread PART 3

just bought my first LMII yesterday w/ 20% thanksgiving discount

You guys who are getting the negative from GC on Markbass stuff are making me nervous. I'm planning on trying to get one Friday.

123ERANIOD - In what city did you buy your LMII?

If they tell me it's not included in the sale my main arguments are going to be that it's not listed in the exclusions and that several people in this thread have spoken to managers of various Guitar Centers and confirmed that it is on sale at their location.

I'm gonna be POed if they say it's not included though. I NEVER do this Black Friday stuff but I already had my eye on this and since it's going to be $120 less...

bc

BTW, has anyone ever been to GC's previous Black Friday morning sales and if so what was the scene like where you live? Was it crazy like I hear about places such as Best Buy or was it not that crowded or what? I plan on being there before the doors open.

good plan, but i wouldn't worry so much about that. the manager at my GC told me no, but i called a few more times and finally got someone to look it up, and MB was indeed getting 20% off.

I haven't been to any of their Black Friday sales, but I have been to their annual Memorial Day sale (the one with 'the list' or w/e), which i think is their biggest sale of the year (hence, 'the list').

I went an hour after it opened and it was crowded, but not horribly. Still managed to get whatever I went for.

Or you can skip the wait and get an employee to hold an LMII for you like I'm doing.

best of luck to you then.

i don't know anyone there either, but the employee i talked to over the phone offered to put it on hold and aside (did this on monday). and i called back today, and it's still there.

what i thought was interesting was the fact that GC had 6 in stock on monday, but when i called today they had 2. maybe the others are on hold til friday; well i wouldnt know.

Interesting. I called the GC that I'm going to visit earlier tonight and they also had 2 in stock. I wonder if they're putting secret limits on some items. Probably just a coincidence but it makes me wonder.

Just have to convince every manager to call up their superiors?

Now that GC has announced the sale on their site: Invalid Link Removed

those of you who don't want to show up can do so (i think) by calling the 'Call Center.' And I'm assuming you'd have to call b/t 8-10am.

Stopped by GC this morning to pick up an F1. Thought the regular price was $850. With the 20% discount + 5% tax it was $839. More than I expected so I didn't buy it.

Should have been about $725 with tax ($845 list). Why didn't you call them on that?

Edit: I wonder if they are not discounting the warranty... i.e., discounting the non warranty price, then adding back in the warranty. It wouldn't come out exactly to your $839, but that would at least somewhat explain the pricing.

compare to my rack set up this lmII is small but terible ,loud and clear sound and more versatile from slap to fingerstyle

I picked up a LMII just to get divert (on occasion) from a similar set up that you have. Its nice felling to make one trip.

The fit into a laptop bag well.
