i dont get it!!!! i OWN one of these things and i hate it. i have a markbass lmII and its terrible. it has no character not very punchy and just sounds muffled no matter what the settings or cab. i'm trying to sell it and nobody wants to buy it. that says something to me.

Maybe you have a bad one? I love mine! It has both punch and clarity and tends to show the characteristics of the bass you are playing very well.

Maybe your bass sucks (just kidding, I saw your profile).

Have you tried selling it here? It would probably sell in a matter of hours. You have a supporting membership. Use it and post it in the classifieds.

If you don't like it, why did you even buy it to begin with? You may not like it, and that is your prerogative, but I've heard many great amps, and others here have heard many, many more great amps than I. The LMII is a killer amp that has set a new standard for coming technology in bass amps.

However, your title makes it very inconspicuous. I know you edited the title, but it doesn't show up in the forum listing that way. Delete this thread, make a new one that says "FS: Markbass Little Mark II - $500 shipped" and you will have plenty of interersted parties wanting to buy it from you. Though it doesn't help that you are new here and have 0 feedback. People are wary of buying from somebody new to the forum that doesn't have a proven sales record here.

Do you have the filters set all the way to the left and the eq flat? Start there....if it sounds muffled (which these amps don't at all) I would assume you to have the filters possibly straight up instead of all the way to the left.

Given the history of these amps either you have a defective one (very rare) or you're doing something wrong. No offense but that's been the biggest reason for people getting muffled sound, no lows, etc. If your cab has a functioning tweeter, your bass isn't defective and the LMII is okay there's no reason to have muffled sound.


Turn the VPF and VLE fully counterclockwise (CCW= off), set the EQs at 12:00, don't turn the treble down on your bass and make sure the tweeter works. You'll have highs.

I agree with both these posts. My LMII is far from muffled and lifeless. Its actually a pretty bright sounding amp when set flat.

Well today I went to the local GC and tried a LMII with my recently acquired UL-310. I had the GC salesman play while I ran the eq and filters through it's paces. By what I heard in the store, and believe me I pushed the vol pretty hard, all I can say is wow. As this might not be the right amp for a metal or hard rock situation, I sure can see one in my future. Don't get me wrong, I love my GK1001RBII. In fact I am trying the UL-310 tomorrow for the first time in a live situation with the GK. The GK is a great amp for rock, but I am looking for something smoother to use in the corporate world. If I indeed end up with a LMII, I'll probably sell the 1001RBII and still have my trusty old 400RB for the gritty stuff. I too asked the salesman if the 20% sale included Markbass. He said he didn't think so, but would talk to the manager and call me with the info.:eyebrow:

Well, I just went into GC and ordered a LMII and 2 - 121H Traveller cabs!!! Be in next week. Cant wait!! I wanted the F1, but it was 300 more and I thought the LMII has a little better tone.

As for metal, Im sure if you add a SansAmp to your signal you can add a little growl and grind no problem.

i just went in today and the manager said that markbass IS excluded....

the ad i got in the mail listed such brands as mesa/boogie as excluded but not markbass. wow, i'm going to give em a call.
