Just grabbed a Super 200, haven't tried Orange heads or amps ever so this should be fun!

Same! An Oxford with better bass response would be just about perfect for lovers of grind! I have had good results using mine in a crossover blender to add clean bass, but would love a one-pedal solutionAwesome, can't wait for your review! My best experience with Orange-style gear is the Tech21 Oxford, which was designed for guitar not bass, but does sound great when I get it dialed in. Would love to know how the Super 200 compares to that, but I realize that's highly unlikely (Oxford has been out of production for awhile).
Super 200 is great, but I just struggle with finding the right combination of settings to get that solid Orange grit. If you get some good settings, please share!Just grabbed a Super 200, haven't tried Orange heads or amps ever so this should be fun!View attachment 4632611
What are you missing? For one, I am pretty sure those Orange amps use a Fender-type passive tonestack so the EQ is going to be very non-linearSuper 200 is great, but I just struggle with finding the right combination of settings to get that solid Orange grit. I think it's getting the right levels/combo of the Gain, Volume, and Master knobs! What are you missing? For one, I am pretty sure those Orange amps use a Fender-type passive tonestack so the EQ is going to be very non-linear
Ah- that is interesting to see. I’m also curious how those controls are arranged in the circuit and if there are multiple gain-stages that can be driven differently by the different controls. I noticed in the Honda Felder vid that he basically never moved the Level control at allI think it's getting the right levels/combo of the Gain, Volume, and Master knobs!
I'm a happy ME Super 300 and 800 owner but my Orange experience is from an AMT O Bass. Now there's one hairy little SOB.Super 200 is great, but I just struggle with finding the right combination of settings to get that solid Orange grit. If you get some good settings, please share!

i would think that it's a ground lift for the DI.I just got my 800+ todayIs the little black button by the DI for phantom power, or something else? It's not clear to me what it's for from the website, and I don't want to damage my unit

anyone have sound clips or video of an SF72? I want to pull the trigger on one, but would like to hear more samples than the one video on youtube.
For me in my regular 800, everything about it is always on or always off. The Boost I keep on for a low level of grit. My Damnation MBD profiles any sort of overdrive or distortion. The reason for all of this is that my 800 I only use when I have to use an unfamiliar amp, so I can replace its preamp with the 800. If it's my own GK or another amp I like, I don't use the 800. So it's all or nothing. I don't use it as an "effect."Anyone regarding the boost?
Nice! Did you run the 800+ into an FX loop or straight into the amp's input? I've never gotten a good result running it into the amp input. Thanks!
First practice with the Super 800+ yesterday and I liked what I heard, despite the fact that the practice amp was a bit trash. I've followed your advice and have played with the Boost on, it adds some grit to the sound without overdriving it too much, it gave my Pbass a nice growl
Without the boost wasn't bad, but I had to crank things up way more, whereas the Boost made it more manageable.
