MB210/210MBE...here it is!

Has anyone else tried this combo,

Yes, I have just got in from my band rehearsal, the MB210 gets better and better, I have started increasing the low mid to 3/4 and the tone just leaps out of the speakers, I do find the bass eq very powerful so keep it to about 1/4, compensating for the reduction in bass with the low mid .
With the exception of my Yamaha 700 Raptor quad, the MB210 is the best product I have ever bought :D
Now where are the damn MBE210s :hyper:

Well I played the MB210/210MBE tonight at a Labor Day gig. I can't say much about it because I think there still may be a phasing issue and speakers issue. A rep from GK has contacted me all ready and would like for me to send it back to them so they can check it out. I like GK's customer service. I didn't contact them...they contacted me. Thanks GK for trying to help me out. I appreciate it...believe me.
I'll keep you up to date on the combo/cab issue.

I got the MB210 back today. I don't know when I'll get to try it out in a practice session because I've been working so much. I hooked the 210MBE into the combo just here at the house and could tell quite a bit of difference. GK said they fixed a "phasing" problem. I'll let you know how it does once I get to really try it out. I'm pretty sure the problem is solved. Thanks Bob and also Brian. Talk about good customer service. They read my post on here and contacted me and offered to take care of it. Thanks GK!

So how many of you have got the MBE 210 extension cabinet ?

Is it good, there have been posts about phase issues, is this common, the reason I ask is that I dont want to spend £250 on something that has to go back straight away and may be unreliable !
I have been told the UK will get these cabs end of October, will believe it when I see it though :( .

There is an earlier thread somewhere on this Forum that has about 200 posts complaining about the delay in delivery of the MBE210. A number of people paid in advance many months ago (with various retailers) and are really getting pissed. :eyebrow:

I have been out playing this evening and am still hugely impressed with the MB210, I was thinking of lining it as in another thread but after tonight I see no need, It sounded fantastic to me, I played my Gibbo SG bass and my Ibanez EWB20WNE accoustic bass through it and both sounded great :hyper::D, I am really excited with my bass role in my band now, its all coming together now, we have got 35 songs really good now, all ranging from Hendrix, ZZ Top, The Who, Rory Gallagher, Stones, Skynnrd, Clash, CCR, Thorogood and many other great bands .
We have our first gig next saturday and I cant wait :hyper:
Will still get the MBE when it appears .

Well I was excited about the "stack" until I actually played through it today. I don't have much of a review. I don't have a clue why but the stack was weak. I got better sound plus a bigger sound with using just the combo. I can't figure that out at all. Second, it sounds like at least one speaker is screwed up. Lots of rattling...no power what so ever. I all ready contacted GC to try to get another 210MBE and give it a try. I sure did want to be able to "stack" for the outdoor show next weekend.

My MB210 was the same way, it's out of phase. I fix my myself by opening the chassis and revering two leads.

The leads was from the main board to the output jack, it has a two conductor jack on the right side with just two wires (black) attach to pin 1 and 2. they have to be revere, you revere them by pushing in the small metal pins and pulling them out at the same time.

The first leads was from the main board, it has a four conductor jack on the right side with just two wires (black) attach to pin 1 and 4. they have to be revere, you revere them by pushing in the small metal pins and pulling them out at the same time.

Then go to the output jack and revere one of the jack also. That it.
I don't know what you did internally, but if you reverse polarity at two points in the circuit it ends up as it was.

No.You have to change them in two place. The main speakers are out of phase so step one it to revere the cabs speaker. if you don't change the leads going to the extension jack it will still be out of phase. Do the math. Draw it out on paper and you'll see what I'm talking about.
The problem is comprehension of what you're trying to say, and if you don't draw it out on paper I'm afraid only you will know what you mean.

As I understand it the combo is wired with the internal drivers reverse polarity, so to correct it the leads to the internal drivers must be reversed. If you also reverse the leads to the extension speaker jack then an extension speaker will still be reverse polarity with respect to the internal.

Clarification from G-K would help, but understandably they probably don't want anyone attempting to do their own work, possibly doing damage.

The problem is at the extension jack is wired backward.
