MB210/210MBE...here it is!

Thanks, just need the cab then - dooooh
I am not impressed by this, when you buy an electrical product it should be right first time !!
What does your set up sound like, does the MBE make a big difference ?

The combo by itself has some good power. Put the ext cab with it and it really kicks. I haven't got to play "out" with it since I got it back from GK but just trying it out here at the house and there is quite a bit of difference.
As I said earlier, with the phasing issue it was weak...the combo was stronger by itself. Now that the issue has been taken care of you can definitely hear the difference.

I have the MB210 combo. I use it for practice because it is lightweight to haul and has enough power to hang with a full band. For my more serious gigs I use Euphonic Audio amps and cabinets. I know they are expensive but the tone is fabulous and they are lightweight too.

Here's the main thing for me; I'm 62, been at it for most my life and I am finished with large heavy bass amps and cabinets. The new technology has set a whole new standard, for me anyway. Even Lee Sklar uses the EA equipment now. I am really stoked that I no longer need to haul large heavy amps and stacks around.

GK makes some nice equipment and so far I have used the MB210 combo a lot and it has never failed.

During the holidays these will be on sale again. I bet you'll see a $100 discount.

I have never heard of them Gary .
I think its great when people like yourself play all their lives, I have been `bassing` for about 9 months, previously a guitarist but I wish I had taken up bass earlier, I love it .
The bass player before me in the band was 68 years old and very sadly passed away this year but I admired him for his love of the instrument and his stamina, the last gig with him he played for over 3 hours !
I play my first bass gig this saturday and will be thinking of him and doing him proud.

I just my 210MBE today from Music 123 (yea!). Playing it with the MB210, the two together did not sound as good as the MB210 alone. Not sure if that's because the MB210 is broken in and the 210MBE is not, or what(I've had the MB210 since late Feb or March). The volume knob on the bass did seem to make more difference playing through both, but the expected improvement in sound was not noticeable. There was definitely more hiss playing both together than playing the MB210 by itself with horns on. Could that be due to the amp pushing 4 ohms instead of 8 ohms?

I had the same problem with my MB210 and 210MBE. It ended up that the external speaker cabinet jack on back of the combo was wired wrong making it out of phase. GK paid to have me ship it back to them, they fixed it, and shipped it back to me. Now there's a big difference when the ext cab is used with the combo.

Robert,
Thanks for all of the support at GK. I haven't got to use my "stack" playing out yet but the best I can tell, everything is fine. There is a big change in volume now when I add the ext cab to the combo. Thanks again. I'm thinking about getting the MB200 Ultra Light amp head to use with the 210MBE. Have you tried that out...the MB200 with the 210MBE?

Thank you Bob, the problem I have (like many these days) is that I bought online from a large retailer not a specialist bass/music store, would the amp have to go to a GK dealer to keep the warranty, if so this will be inconvenient and possibly costly as the dealer would not want to pay postage, I do have an excellent amp specialist nearby .
Other than the above I have to say the MB210 is an excellent amp, just want the damn cabinet :D

Just revere the the leads on the output leads to the extension speaker that you have to do.

Just looked at the back of the amp, I presume I would have to remove the amp from the cabinet to access the wires ?
So does the amp still work ok without the extension when the wires are reversed, I do not really understand electrical theory ?
