MEDIUM SCALE WARWICK ROCKBASS 5'er, this just changed everything

Cant see it selling very well, being 32 scale for a fiver. The 4 string version might be nice short scale 4 stringer for those wanting short scale though.
This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. If it sounds on bar with similarly priced Spectors, the medium scale will win me over...I hope this isn't one of those "lets make 250 and only sell them for 6 months so that the used market will be astronomically over-priced" Wicks.
Release will be mid-2012 most likely.
I asked them about the Rockbass Streamer Neck-thru model which has my fancy. The guy in Germany said it will start delivering in June.
I imagine it will be the same for this.
And yes, they are priced quite high (1100 EUR msrp for a Rockbass LOL).

There's at least 1 TB'r here with two medium scale Warwick's strung B to G who says the B is tight. I'd feel more comfortable with a bigger sample though. Those were custom shop too. Don't know if it will carry over to the RB's.
"I have two 32" 5 string Warwicks.
The first is a 2007 black Corvette Standard that I ordered to my specs from the Warwick Custom Shop. It is a black gloss finish over an ash body. The pickups and electronics are active. The bass has a brass JAN I nut. This bass has the best B of any bass I have ever played and I have a tried a lot. It is so well defined and fat... it's sick! I use DR Low Riders with a 130 B. I recently got my second 32" Warwick completed. I actually built this one from two Warwick basses. I bought a used 32" 5 string Corvette Standard on ebay that was dinged to hell but had a perfect neck and frets. Then I found a perfect 34" burgandy red Corvette Pro-Line in maple. I switched the necks and added a new JAN III brass nut and I now have a second killer 32" 5 string! This one plays excellent as well. The B is equally as defined and fat as the custom Warwick. I use the DR's on this bass as well. I gig regularly with both. Hope this helps... don't be worried about the 32" B string on a Warwick. They are unreal."

Yeah dude, ship a couple over, as our used prices are not as buyer-friendly as yours.
I don't know about the neck thru but the active RB Corvette 5's are going for $629 the eBay. I would expect a similar price point.
I guess I'll have to wait and see when they come out. 700 will be my limit for my next bass purchase, and this looks spot on if that B is alright. Any other known experience with 32" Bs we can gather up here?
Count me as extremely interested, especially at a ~$650 price point. At a higher price, it's going to have to really blow me away for a Rockbass.
I'm not going to hold out too much hope for a great B string. IME, I've not had much luck with B strings shorter than 33", but a lot of it has to do with neck stability and string choice. If Warwick does the necks right on these, they could work wonderfully.

Been informed by Thomann (online store in Europe) that the RB Streamer Neckthru will be 899 EUR.
Man I hope someone gets that before me and says that it is well worth it. I have heard good things of the RBs recently (2010 and newer) so maybe it is worth it. NTs are also always a bit more expensive.

This sounds very interesting.
The only negative (for me anyway) is the 5-string Rockbass's 16.5mm string spacing. Not positive it will be this on the medium scale bass, but it is on the 34" scale. That's pretty tight.
But I would definitely be interested in a 4-stringer.

I doubt they are going to change their bridge spacing for this model. The only changes appear to be the neck-length and fretboard overhang. The body looks to be the same as for the full size corvettes and not down-sized in any way. Pickup position does not appear to change from the 34" models either.
16.5mm at the bridge is likely a deal breaker for me. If the saddles can be scooted out to 17 or 17.5mm, I would be much happier.
