It most definitely did, and what I like is how dynamic, full, articulate and controlled it sounded.
+1 I recently spent some quality time with an M6 and my AE410. Really nice. You can bring the AE410 to its knees with this head, due to the rather unruly low end that extends well below the tuning of that cabinet (this is one head that can REALLY benefit from a unit like the Thumpinator or other hi pass filtering). I actually got the AE410 to port chuff, which has never happened with any other head even at brutal volume. However, you really have to be cranking to do that.
The most impressive boxes I've played with this head were the various 15/6 cabs (fEArful, etc.). That mightly 3015LF driver can take EVERYTHING the M6 puts out. The downside is that you really have to control those upper mids with the 15/6, since the midrange is so present and 'accurate' with the 15/6 boxes... that combination is bright almost to the point of pain. However, a deep cut in the treble works pretty well, as long as you like it bright and aggressive. The low end is a thing of wonder with that combination (versus the much more attenuated punch of the AE410).

I should add that the HD212 with the M6 is a great pairing, as well. It sounds much bigger than it's physical size would lead you to believe.

Exactly why I went to the M9.
Trim with the lower band/s of the GEQ, and use the compressor, and you're all good

+1 I would not recommend the M6 to anyone at this point, given the M9 is not much more expensive, and is close to the same size and weight.
I still think the M9's extremely low hi pass setting (if there even is one) would cause some cabs some trouble, even with the low EQ bands (that only impact a sliver of the total low end) attenuated. However, with the right cab, that head is killer. The main thing for me is the ability to better control the absolutely shocking, brutal, massive upper mid bump in the voicing of the M6/M9. With that graphic, it becomes no problem to control that uber clack built into the head. Of course, with an old school sealed cab with no tweeter, that 'uber clack' becomes 'uber grindy bliss'
First show last night with my new (well, new for me anyway !) rig. I picked up a Buster head in great condition to go with my Bergantino HS410. I had the preamp level at about 2:00 and I got a very nice tone out of her. I thought it would be fun to have a tube amp considering venues around here aren't big enough to justify p.a. support and figured it would add a cool sonic quality to the overall mix(inspired by hearing a Reeves). It was so cool and mission accomplished ! The last time I played through an all tube setup was the late eighties. There's also something cool about knowing I have a Mesa head considering I live in Northern Ca. and they were way out of my price range when I was younger.
Nice, the Buster is an awesome head. Too bad for me, when I owned one, I never did take it out for any gigs, or even any jams. It lived it's life in my music room. But what a good time we two had together.
Me too... I had a trio of Mesa gear at one time...my Walkabout (which I still have), a Buster combo and a Mark IV guitar combo. For whatever reason I sold the combos and regret it!
There is a Buster 1x15 combo on sale in France, a bit too far for me but the thing is in flawlessly cosmetic condition.
I'm gazing for it but can't afford...
What's the weight of your combo ?

I have the master volume at 1pm and the gain at 1pm... and This is definitely loud enough to play with a drummer right??
Cause the drummer said he couldn't hear me... And I'm pretty sure you don't really wanna push the walkabout scout 1x12 past those volumes....
It says its 300WATTS but honestly how many watts can i get out of it...
I Always keep my EQ FLAT cause i can never figure out the parametric eq ... Seems you really have to mess around with it a lot... It only cuts the amount specified by the knobs above it right?.
Whats difference between keeping the treble knob lower... then actually cutting the treble DB wise

Yes, just sold it earlier this year. It was a tone monster, but also heavier than any 2x10 combo on the planet. Around 100 lbs, maybe a bit over. And, to the last poster's question, a 4 ohm Walkabout Scout 12 is limited to about HALF it's power, due to the single 12" spkr. This is why the less popular 8 ohm Scout combo makes better sense. You may need a bigger spkr cab, (multi-driver) to keep up with a rock band.
Heres a picture of my bass rig and my buddies guitar setup. We're not in a band together, but both love our Mesas!

I just purchased a M3 Carbine and this is the loudest best sounding combo I have heard beautiful tone and because I am a ridiculous control knob tweaker the fewer controls the better I love this thing so much if I had a choice between a super model and this combo I would pick the super model but I would cry like a baby everyday missing my combo
