I want to fully retire my vintage Diesel cabs and eventually have a pair of 212's.

I was the same way until I finally said it was time to stop screwing around with this amp and that one looking for the perfect tone my Mesa is everything and then some it's one of those plug and play amps just a beautiful sound from a great company doing it the right way
Yea man, that is pretty much my sentiments.
Just want to FINALLY get my Mesa stuff and be done with it.
new used cab day! PH212.
I stopped by the store and snagged the used PH212 I tried out a couple of weeks ago. It's a silver grille, so no pix until I repaint the grille to black so it matches my other cabs. It sounds great though.

Jumped on the Mesa Band Wagon officially a minute ago 
Found a minty M-Pulse 600 Head mounted in the Factory tolex "Head" case.
Complete with the Mesa foot controller.
Should be here on the brown truck Wednesday or Thursday!!

Now I need decide what Mesa Cab (s) to mate it up with? hmmmmm.....
Thinking about just going with a PH410 for the moment.
Then maybe adding a PH210 to it down the road to give me the 610 stack?

I LOVE my M9..... Best amp I have ever heard. Period. It is not going anywhere..... Unless it dies like my first M9!
But.... I A/B-ed my Sadowsky SA410 (made by Berg) with my Mesa PH410.... I really think the Berg cabs sound better than the Mesas.
Thoughts? Comments?

Was curious,
Will the high power Mesa heads sound decent at lower "home" volumes?
Or do they need be pushing big air to get the good tone from them?
Not in a band now, and have no idea when time will let me join or start one?
Am on the fence about rolling a full GK rig to convert to Mesa.
I am considering either the M9 Carbine or the M-Pulse 600 at this point.
Just want to be sure I can get good tone from either head with volume at 3 as well as 8 settings.

I own a M9 carbine and use it at home daily. It sounds just as awesome at low volumes as it does when you crank it up. The graphic eq is quite helpful to dial in the right tone without making the building crumble.

I just bought a mint M-Pulse 600 with foot controller in the bronco head casing.
Arrives tomorrow or thursday.
Now looking around for a decent Mesa Cab to pair up with it.
Might actually go back to a 215 cab. Last 215 cab I used was an Ampeg V6B Cab back in the early 80's....hahaha!!
Recently have used Hartke 810XL cab...GK 410 and 115...
Was considering the Mesa PH610 or the Mesa PH412 initially.
BUT? hard to find anywhere close to me and shipping on the 412 is crazy pricey!!
Found a brand new PH215 local to me for $1,199 plus tax...Might just lay down and give that a whirl for awhile with the M-Pulse 600 head.

Jim B. has really expanded his line of cabs since the time I bought my Berg cabs. My thoughts on comparing my Berg HT210/HT115 cab setup to my pair of Powerhouse 212's:
IMO, the HT210/HT115 stack sounds more neutral or 'full range', which make them better suited for R&B or Modern Country gigs, -for my personal needs, anyway.
Whereas my Mesa PH212 stack sounds more low mids voiced, which makes them better suited for Rock gigs, but YMMV.

This is my first experience with 12's in a band setting. All I can say is they sound awesome! They're really hard to find in my area and no stores carry them new, but I kinda wished I discovered them before my PH810. A 412 would have kicked major butt...lovely mids from the 12's.
So I had this idea to tame my M-2000 combo for home practice use. The cabinet is a 4ohm 212, so I decided to wire each of the drivers to it's own 1/4" phone jack. Now I can run the head at 8ohms with just one driver and I can choose between tweeter or no tweeter or I can run the whole thing by just plugging in both jacks. It works great and increased the flexibility of an already very versatile medium sized rig.

Gotta love one day shipping.
Same UPS zone as the GC store in Long Island.
Thing is, they "forgot" to pack the foot controller and the cord for that.
AND "forgot" to pack the A/C power cord for the amp!!!???
So cannot plug it in and give it a rip till tomorrow.
At least they are eating overnight shipping just in case.
Might have a buyer for my GK rig from local CL listing.
Am leaning towards giving the PH215 cab the nod.
Have not played a 215 cab in ages.
There is one brand new in a local music store.
The PH215 does have an adjustable horn in it right?
So I should still be able to dial in some decent mids and low mids from it, right?
I have been playing a 410/115 rig lately and before that a 810 cab.
So just hoping IF I end up doing this PH215, it will not just be only boomy lows???

I have a chance of trading for either the PH410 or the PH212. I know I can try them both and see which I prefer but I can't try them out in band situation.
I have the M9 and play an active 5 stringer.
For those of you who have experience with both, Which of the 2 cabs do you think would be a better fit for me? I play in a loud death metal band.
Keep in mind that if I chose the PH410 I will add a PH115 at some point.
oh! Both cabs are 8ohm.
