Wowwww. I got my bass 400+ in yesterday after I was ampless from shipping out the Titan. I LOVE IT! I had the 400 before, but the 400+ is just a different animal. It also has the 12AU7 tube in the pre and it is perfect for the cleaner tube sound I want. Plenty of headroom, but not so much that I don't get the tubes heated up!

I'll get pictures eventually, but wow, what a great rig.

I also just got a P bass to get back to basics, and so far I'm loving the passive + tubes + 10s equation, as much as I may have criticized it in the past.

So am to understand that the 12AU7 doesn't 'break up' as quick as a 12AX7? Is this a quick swap or is there some mod that needs to be done? Any 12AU7 will do or one brand in particular? I would be tempted to try this as I now have two 400+ and would to see if I can hear the difference. :)

The 12au7 lowers gain a tad, which keeps it from breaking up as soon.
It also seems to make the tone stack more responsive.
It goes in the tube driver socket, or V1 IIRC: there's a thread about it here somewhere.

I used a JJ; seemed to work out nicely.

Find the thread, read it...

Anyone use an M-Pulse 360?
Ones popped up for sale and I'm wondering if it's going to have enough punch/volume through 2 x DB112's?

Really? I figure for how many were probably made, you'd see them on the market a lot more. I'd totally be down to snatch one if it came up! If my ampeg b2-r with 350 watts can punch through 4 10's with a good amount of force, then the 360 sure as hell can through 2 12's! What's the asking price if I may ask?

I live in the other hemisphere. An alternative universe where bass amp prices are 4 times higher than what you'd find in the US; particularly Mesa. I think it might be due to the number of export (voltage) versions they produce.

M-Pulse 600 for $4195 anyone?!

I'll get this 360 shipped from NZ for the equiv. of $1350Au. They're on the same voltage as Australia
