Mesa/Boogie Titan V12 megathread!

Can anyone tell me the tube layout for the Titan? I have the lid of now and I see 4 of them in a "square" pattern. Two closest to the front panel and then two more inline that are farther away from the front panel. I have a loud hum when I switch on the OD…it's the same for both channels with OD engaged. Thanks for any help.

Thanks, yes, I'm calling them today. Casa actually had a tube layout diagram and passed it on to me. I've swapped out all the tubes and the buzz is still there. I'll see what they recommend today.

I will Tom. In what aspect? Boosting, cutting? Those two have a symbiotic relationship?

I have found interesting settings by both boosting and cutting. What I do is once I have my OD dialed in relatively close, I boost to about 3 o'clock, and then sweep through the mid frequencies, and then I cut to about 9 o'clock and do the same. Then, I go back to where I had the best results and fine-tune from there.

Sorry for my english but I´m not a native english speaker.
Recently I have moved to another country, so left and sale my cab (PH410) there, now I´m wondering what cab i need to buy, I´d love to buy a PH1000, but my needs are not the same I´m just looking for something to play at home and I´m thinking about a ph210.

What do you think? Do you think i should consider to get rid of my Titan and go for something (smaller) or maybe another cab will be able to handle the Titan.
I have never been so hooked with an amp as I´m with the Titan.

Get one of the 8 ohm 600 watt PH210s. Perfect match with a Titan, and you can add another if you want to expand again.

Problem is new PH210 works at 400watt, I´ve seen in many web-shops with 600watt but I think information is out dated. I´m not going to push it, so I should not face any problem.

Hey all, I started a thread but probably should have just posted here...sorry.

My Titan amp has taken a dump. It was an earlier model that apparently didn't get the update that was needed (new transformer, 2nd cooling fan).

I'm at my gig this past Saturday night and the amp just quit on me. I contacted Mesa about the problem, gave them the serial number, run down of the problem, etc... Long story short, it has died and needs to be sent back to MB for the updated parts. This is gonna cost me around $550-$600 with shipping.

My dilemma is what to do now. I love the amp, love the tone, and I probably won't ever buy another amp again if I decide to keep it. However, instead of keeping it and spending the money to have it repaired, I could put that money towards something else and just sell the Titan "as is" for cheap and let someone else send it in for repairs.

Mesa Titan users - Anyone that has had this update completed by MB, have you had any more trouble out of your amp? How long have you been running the amp since the update. I need info to make the decision easier and feel good about it.

I don't want to have to keep putting money in it...

I would fix it. Somebody needs to, I imagine it will be easier to sell if it is working. I'm sure itll be rock solid when you get it back from Mesa, its cool they are still willing to fix discontinued amps.

Mine never gave me any trouble.

Oh! That's my old amp?! That sucks. I don't think anybody is going to buy it broken, so not sure there are choices other than fix it or scrap it.

Hi 12 experts,

I'm stepping into this thread as I would to know how the V12 sounds compared to the M-Pulse 600. I own the M-Pulse for 2 weeks now, and own a Ampeg SVT 4 Pro since 2008. So I'm more of an Ampeg user, still I really like the MP. But I feel the Ampeg is cleaner and "wider" soundwise.
How the V12 sounds? Will I be albe to get the massive fat christal clear sound I'm used to with my SVT4 Pro?

I'm interested in the V12 as I'd like to have 2 independant channels and OD.

The V12 can make your Ampeg feel anemic. It's that good. You can make it sound any way you want. It's one of the most flexible amps (tone-wise) I've ever played. Be careful what cabs you pair with it because it will splinter inferior boxes.

Well, I was told the same about the M-Pulse 600. And I have to say, if feel it's light years away from anemic compared to the MP600

Someone told you a MP600 would crush your Ampeg 4? Well, I can't help you with that advice but I can tell you I've had both the Ampeg 4 and the Titan...owned them both at the same time.

However, I wish I had bought the black version. Mine is chrome.
If I'm not wrong, the black version is different from the chrome as it has more fans and drills in the chassis?
