Mesa Boogie Walkabout Mega-thread Part 10

Are you certain the extension cab is actually 8 ohms? Its hard to find the info for legacy speakers, but I only seem to remember seeing the original Deltalite as a 4ohm speaker. Could definitely be wrong! Edit- that DCR seems right for an 8ohm speaker
There is no ohmage labeling on either cab. Just my meter readings of each fully disconnected driver. Of course, my meter may be suspect, it’s a cheapie.

I see on Mesa’s site that they sell an Eminence 8 ohm 12” neo for the Walkabout Scout cab. Whether it’s the Deltalite 2512 II is not mentioned. Maybe it is a dedicated Mesa OEM model.

Funny thing, my cab with the Eminence neo has the cheapo binding lugs, where-as pics of all other Eminence neos have the deluxe screw terminals, just like my older ceramic Deltalite I in the other cab has.

I may pick one up while they are still available and sell my 8 ohm Deltalite ceramic one. Someone here with a 4 ohm one may want to buy it to swap out so they can run two cabs.

There were no DeltaLite ceramic drivers, just Delta and Delta Pro.

The terminals were not always consistent, sometimes different terminals ended up getting shipped unless they were the standard .205's.

er so I’ve quoted the wrong post of yours - but your extension cab isn’t a delta lite 1 .... I’ll stick a photo up of mine tomorrow if I can around all the Christmas prep

Yeah- I just noticed that the rear of his speaker looked different than my old Deltlite I as well. Interestingly though, the print number on the rear of the cone is the same... Here's a picture of the 4 ohm that came stock in my old 4ohm Scout cab when I sold it years ago: 4 ohm 12" neo Speaker from Mesa Walkabout Scout cab

Hi, here a Chrismas tale for bass player.

Tribute to a unknowed session bass player

Yesterday I was at the fruits store with my wife, there were some cheap Christmas disco music coming from a cheap 6 in. Speaker on the ceiling. Very annoying music but the bass player had a crazy cranked Pbass playing style 'à la Tim Bogert' that pass true the small speakers, it was so good it was time to pay the order but I was staying there to listen, amazed. The guy was so creative.

So children if you are nice Santa Claus will drop a nice WD800 under the tree....:hyper:

ft house!!!

Interesting! I'm curious why you'd suggest this?
In the Subway family, this will reduce the rated output when used in the 2 ohm mode while driving 4 and 8 ohm speakers. It lowers the rated power by about 25% into 4 and 8 ohms, while delivering rated output into 2 ohms.
