Well, I honored my sale of the Walkabout, but I'll snag a used one after my Avatar TB153 cab gets sorted out ( I think that cab in 4 Ohm has been my favorite match for the WA). And here is a list of the boxes I have tried under my WA in order of my preference:

Pair of EA Wizzy 12s

Love my WA with a single Wizzy M-line 12 most of the time. I can't imagine needing a whole lot more, but if I did, I'd run another M-line, just in case. 4 ohms each BTW

Cool. My Wizzies were both 8 Ohm and I regret selling them. I had received them in a trade and made the (recurrent) mistake of flipping them too quickly. Oh well, if I learned from all the mistakes I have made in life......I'd be a genius by now, LOL.

Playing my Sadowsky through the Walkabout is pure heaven, so I know that sounds fantastic!!!!!

So, I used my 2 GK NEO 112 II's with my GK 1001RBII at my last gig with my cover/tribute band (metal, classic rock). Worked great in that context and they are so light and easy to move for my bad neck. That got me thinking about going with that setup in that band moving forward and then getting a new cabinet for my Walkabout head that I use in my original/cover band they plays blues, alt country, funk, etc (you can hear it at the link for Spillway below). I was thinking possibly all mesa or even dropping it into a Scout cab. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Yeah, drop the WA in a Scout combo cab if you want; that works for me. But I'd just experiment with trying to make yourself happy with the WA and the GK cabs, unless you have a burning desire to spend money. The EQ is flexible enough that you should find a sound not too distant from one you'd get by pairing the head with the Scout cab.

I personally love the WA with other cabs, especially the Aguilar GS112 and GS410; there's nothing magical about the Scout.

I won't address the cab type, but as far as "dropping it into" a Scout cab, IMO that's more hassle than convenience, unless you'll never remove it from the combo. I like the head controls facing forward where I can see and get at 'em easily, and prefer to carry the head in a light bag for use with different cabs. The Scout cabs are nice (the 12 is tuned VERY low for a 12, nice and deep and great for blues fer sure) but I prefer the separate cab route, rather than the combo cab with the slot for the head. YMMV

I think that pairing works pretty well.
Nearly as deep as the Scout cabs, and brighter on top, which I like.

I have limited experience with the Scout cab, but a good 1x15 or 2x10 cab sounds much better and worth the schlepping hassle IMO, unless you really don't need low bass performance and/or a pretty loud rig.

I've used the Walkabout and GK NEO 112 II stack. I love it b/c the Walkabout smoothes out the cabs. At first pass, I found them a little harsh for my taste. However, the Walkabout matches up perfectly and really adds a nice touch of warmth to them that was missing for me.

I was just thinking of trying a secondary setup if I move the GK's as my main gigging cabs in my other band. I keep a seperate rig for each. I am really intrigued by pairing my Walkabout with some MB PH112's.

I purchased 2 WA Scout cabs a 15 and a 12 without the head right here on TB and use them individually for different size rooms and venues. I use a Markbass tube 800 for the smaller gigs with the 12 and believe it or not, my M9 (not to loud) with the 15 and I love the warm vintage tone I get from them... Full, fat and woody... It's all a matter of personal taste and music selection, but I’ve tried a lot of cabs and to me these are a cut above for performance, portability and tone…just sayin!

I have a Walkabout and a Titan and I just finished building a sealed 12"Cab with white tolex. It contains an Eminence Beta Series 2A 12 Inch Speaker, 250WRMS, 500W Peak, 8 Ohms. It really produces a sweet pure,warm organic tone in the low and low mids, and also reproduces the mids and highs in a sweeter way than many bass speakers. I use it mainly with my Walkabout to use in various parts of the house if my practice area is being used or other purposes by the family. I can also pair it with my recient aquisition pictured below, my new Schroeder BMF (Bad Mother F*%#@&!) 412, 8 ohms...for gigging out which gives a little different sound than my Mesa Titan with the Uber 410 cab paired with the Earcandy 212 cabs. I'm very pleased with how the homemade cab turned out-spent only a little over a hundred dollars...Peace...DAcat
