Jamming witha drummer what is a decent volume setting for the walkabout scout?
I just jammed with some people and had my walkabout gain and master at 12 oclock...
Whats the loudest i can push this amp without damaging it?

Higher gain may give you more distortion, depending on the output of your bass. With most basses, using the passive setting, distortion starts around 12 or 1 o'clock on the gain. If you have a 12" combo in 4 Ohms, your speaker will start to compress before full output. This means the last bits of twist on your volume knob will not make it louder. As far as damaging your speaker, just listen to it and increase volume gradually. It will start complaining before you blow it. If you need more volume, an extension cab is the way to go, or pull the head from the combo and get a larger cab.
That's about as loud as it goes. Turning up past there just adds flavor.

Is there a particular boost pedal that works well with the WA? I'm looking to hit it and overdrive the tube and get some breakup.
I'm not much of a pedal guy either...I just wanted something that I can turn on and off while playing.
I may have read this wrong, but I think he is asking about a pedal that will boost the input signal and in return cause the WA tube to overdrive.
Yeah...just something to boost the signal.

$1100 for the head is correct. Personally, I bought used. It's significantly cheaper that way. I've seen the original silver/red go for $400-$500ish. The silver/black $450 -$550, usually on the higher end if it has the input and effects loop upgrade. I've only seen a few of the newer blackface models for sale on here and they went for $750.
