Mesa Boogie Walkabout Part 5!!!

That's normal--if you have the 4 ohm cab (as most do, including me), it can't handle all 300 watts of the Walkabout head. It's a great combo, but there are limitations. You could either get a second Scout cab underneath or a different cab entirely. The WA seems to play well with a variety of cabs.

Thanks so much for the Help!

WA megathread, I know, but now, sitting right next to my WA/Uber 212 rig, is my new M3 Carbine/DB210 synth rig. (traded my Buster rig). To say I'm thrilled with these 2 modest 300 watt amps is the understatement of the century- both are solid, great sounding amps, the M3 is more suitable with my synthesizers, WA with bass guitar.

Well I got my Walkabout Scout 12 from lomo and have mounted the Walkabout head inside. I've only tried it in my music room at the house, but so far so good. I'm taking it out to my Tuesday gig next week, so I'm looking forward to trying it in the band setting.

You gonna gig the 12 alone or put it on another cab? If your band is reasonable and/or you have FOH, you may not need anything else.

Thought I'd post a teaser pic of my Walkabout Scout with my new Nordy VP5. Vanilla Bronco/ Black & gold grill cloth. (I forget what they call that grill cloth)

These two play VERY well together! Nordstrand VP5 Passive magic through Mesa Walkabout tubey goodness! How can that be bad? Right?

Love th vintage look.

I am trying the gig with just the WA. I guess I could toss my GK NEO 112 II in the trunk just in case.

I would take it along. Better to regret schlepping 30 lbs for naught than wish you had it t the gig. Having said that, many are more than happy with the Scout 12 alone.

I still do this on gigs where I don't know the venue and/or P.A. System. For the size/weight of my Radiator 12 cab it's piece of mind to know you have the gig covered. I've never needed more than the 2 12" Scout stack can provide and 90% of the time leave the extension cab in the car.

Hey MF, are your Scout cabs 4ohms each? If so, can you drive them hard all night?
