Mesa M6 Carbine Mega Thread part 3:

Probably oughta pop the top and look inside while it's out, just for good measure.
Make sure the torroidal transformer didn't move, etc.
Yeah, good call, but probably unlikely. As I recall, those have a huge center bolt assembly directly through the bottom of the metal cabinet. I would think if that thing moved, that bolt would be clearly visibly torqued just looking at the bottom of the head. Still, always good to make sure.

The first M6 I got came back from service, the box clearly having been dropped, with a shifted transformer, and a big wrinkle in the bottom of the case:(
Shipping monkeys. Boo.

I originally had a Mesa M9 when they first came out. Loved the sound. But then I got lazy and started taking my GB Shuttle 3.0 on my smaller gigs due to the lighter weight.

In a moment of weakness , I sold the M9 and picked up a Shuttle 9.0. I've been using that for the last year or so. While the tone is good, I've never forgotten that M9 sound.

Recently an M6 Fathom came up for sale and I bit. It came in yesterday and I gave it a once thru in my basement. Nice! :D The real test will be on a gig this Saturday night. The rig will primarily be a Sadowsky WL and a Bergantino AE410. (When I had the M9, I was using a Epifani UL410 so this will be a slightly different sound for me.)

It's good to be back in Mesa land. :smug:

Congrats! There is an extremely good chance that the combination you have won't suck...:D

I've been gigging with an M6 Carbine and AE410 with a Nordy VJ5. Not too far from the sonic universe of your WL Sadowsky. It is going to kick major booty!!

FYI - After my little spill with my M6 a couple weeks ago, I checked inside. Everything is tight as a drum and I've gigged with the amp at last 8 times. Life is good. All is perfect, and not even a scratch. I returned the cheesy rack bag to GC and they were gratious enough to refund my money.

...and now my M6 resides in a 2U SKB rack case. Whew. That brush with a fall scared the crap outta me. :rollno:

Great! I'd love to see any 3 cab stacks if anyone uses 3 cabs.

With my M6 Carbine combo (2x12) and my JazzV and 62avsP-Bass..there isnt a single tune I cant cover (well thats worth listening too...LOL)
extemely impressed...from Delicate old school jazz walking to heavier funk...it has it all...only con i have is that I went through a Pre-amp tube in the first week...thought I had a lemon...but all is good...I have had the amp for almost a year now...Outstanding.
