Mesa M6 Carbine Mega Thread part 3:

Apologies if this has been asked already, but i did do a serach and could nto fiond it anywhere.

I have an opportunity to pick up a M6 combo and was wondering if I can remove the head (like you can with a walkabout) to pair it with other cabs?

thanks in advance!

thanks for dat.

I love this about the M6 combo. You have to take the entire front panel off the amp (four long screws) to reveal the rack ears. Four more screws, and the head pops right out. I have the M6 212 combo, and a PH115. I either run them together, or I can remove the head and use it with the 115 for rehearsal. The combo is extremely heavy, so the 115 and head are much easier to transport, especially if stairs are involved.

I have two amps, not including my SWR Workingman's 10 combo in my living room as my practice amp.

I have the Mesa M6 Carbine 212 combo and the SWR Super Redhead. Both amps are my favorite.

Presently, I have the Mesa M6 in a 2 space rack and I take to to rehearsal where a cab resides. Otherwise, I've needed or wanted any other amps. Yes, the Walkabout rules, too but it's a spare...

Yesterday I went to my local hardware store and bought some wood, an aluminum sheet with a pattern in it, flat black spray paint, and gorilla duct tape.

I then took off the cover of my M6 combo and replaced it with the NEW grill I made. This way I can put in ANY two space rack AND leave the handles on my M6 !!! I also added the Mesa logo !

Now that is crazy, as I've been obsessively checking the GC used site for M6 prices, and that one never made it online. Total score for you!

Guess right place/right time still means something in the real world as opposed to the virtual.

LOL, I must have gotten lucky then because I snagged it from their used gear online site...

I have been watching their listings pretty closely too and scored a sweet Lull M5 for a pretty good deal too. (1500)
