How about 250w of Trace Elliot?
Compared to an older Trace unit? I have not done such a comparison, but man, those older TE's were loud!

Which TE? The ELF is only 200 watts. How about 250w of Trace Elliot?
a little bit of both, combined with finger thickness...Is it the knobs or the circuits behind that dictate width?
Vintage of course.Which TE? The ELF is only 200 watts.
chickenheads can go right next to one another if you break from current. It's not like Mesa was hooked on the numbered knobs of yore.a little bit of both, combined with finger thickness...
Agreed. Some of my old Peavey 1980's amps that were 300 watts were LOUD.Vintage of course.
I wonder if we're not past that now, given the space consideration and Quilter is doing it?
If I remember right, my Bass Block 800 has only one Speakon.IMO, not as important for a (relatively) lower-powered amp to have 2 speakons.
Chicken heads are something we did use on a few products, but they don't save all that much space (if any). Actually, now that I look at it, with the beak and tail clearance at 9:00 and 3:00 they take up significantly more space, so that idea won't "fly".chickenheads can go right next to one another if you break from current. Chicken head was my mistake. I was thinking of the truncated beak and tail kind.Chicken heads are something we did use on a few products, but they don't save all that much space (if any). I don't like single jacks because that Jack, plus the dirst cable are so for points of failure that could result in no sound from multiple cabs.I wonder if we're not past that now, given the space consideration and Quilter is doing it?

Gk knobs then? The truncated knobs are a better approach, but that saves about 1/8" per knob pair.
Ummm, probably notGk knobs then?
1 speakon is cool, but pleeeease keep the XLR outIf I remember right, my Bass Block 800 has only one Speakon.
Have the Mesa knob design department put your own spin on it of course.Ummm, probably not![]()
Smaller jazz bass knobs like you use? There's another I have to look up...Ummm, probably not![]()

But if getting down to knob selection, that's a good sign.
Like those but with less diameter.
