Actually, "vibe" is more like a phaser effect than pitch vibrato. Listen to the sound clip and it's clear:

I just looked at the pedal and saw how the controls were labelled. I figured it was a vibrato.

I seriously wouldnt recommend that for a bass, you will lose a lot if not most of your bottom end. if you need distortion for bass i would go with the electro harmonics big muff pi bass distortion pedal.
i have one it you get really nice tones from it, theres also a version for the guitar as well.
