You should give bikers more credit. Alot of them are charitable. There used to be a charity event called toy run here, where bikers would gather to donate money and toys to ill and needy children. There were a fair share of 1%ers, too.

Yeah, they all seemed like good guys, I'm not sure what they did for a living, but it's one of those "dont ask and they wont tell" kind of things. But they even helped bring my cab in and out and I can't tell you how many times I lug this stuff around when everyone else is just sitting on there ass.

I think it's just like so many other stereo types, they look big and bad, but actually once you get to know them, most of them are pretty good people......but I'm glad they were on my side, that's for sure!

And the best part, I think we got ourselves a new drummer!

Sorry, not contributed much to this so far... A month or so ago I was asked to join British thrash/crossover legends Cerebral Fix. Had to keep it quiet while the rest of the lineup was sorted. It's now been officially announced on our Facebook page... Currently working on learning some old stuff, finishing off the next album and hopefully some/gigs festivals out of it... Will keep you updated on band/my progress!!! First proper rehearsal this Friday.

The metal evangelists I met so far were detestable people. They would only allow metal, only listen to metal. No matter what metal and how crappy. They'd listen to Within Temptation and tell you AC/DC sucks because they're softies hardrock, simply because they're not labeled as metal.

On a related note. I was at an Opeth gig last year. Always wanted to see them as I loved their 90s albums. Blackwater Park, Orchid and Morningrise are still some of my favourite metal albums, but the gig was so boring I fell asleep. Crowd was full of straight edge hipsters who would give me the evil eye, because I would light up a smoke in a non smokers venue.

Yeah, those people were real jerks for following the rules and not wanting to kill them selves and the people around them. What a$$holes. They are also the same kind of people who probably stop at red lights, drive on the correct side of the road, and actually pay for things they buy....what losers :confused:

I hate the "metal-evangelists" who feel that just being a rude jerk is the way to "spread the faith"...sort of like real religion. The best "metal evangelists" I ever met were actually underground hardcore/punk types who were into the speed of the music and the camaraderie of the scene because of how small it was....we had to promote and live in our beliefs or the scene would dissolve. We always laughed at the "mainstream evangelist" with the beer-gut hanging out of an Ozzy shirt, yelling loud obscenities at everyone type.

Nice twist of my point. I'm not talking about "wall of death"ing others or anything like that, but place was packed and people stood there watching the band like it was some documentary on mathematical formulas. No dancing no shaking nothing. In the beginning one other guy and me headbanged a bit, but the lack of energy damped us down I guess.

Just in case, I never stole, I don't promote violence - quite the opposite, I stop at red lights, etc, but when I go to a concert of a band I love I hope the crowd loves it, too. People standing there doing nothing just staring aren't what a great concert experience is about.

Dude...I am with you 1000% about when the crowds are duds. I am always shocked at shows where people tell me to "sit down" or move out of the way. I hate when I try to start a circle pit, and it ends up in a ninja/kickboxing/jock-fest/stupidity event. When I am the only one at the show standing ,and everyone else is like "can you please sit?" What is this....golf? I also hate ...and tis mostly happens at hardcore shows, when the crowd is there to just beat each other up, and not even pay attention to the band. Now granted, about 80% of the hardcore out there these days is not really worth paying attention to, but I digress..

I was just pissed about, or misinterpreted, the "smoking in a non-smoking room comment" because it reminds me of all of the ignorant old-school "metal heads" who think they are above the law in some cases and that rebellion means being ignorant. I don't care if people want to hurt themselves, but don't hurt me while doing it.

I think we are on the same page, and did not want to start a war in the Metal room, but I can't let some comments go, having seen how they give us all a bad rap.

Yeah it's might be a bit ignorant, but I usually don't smoke myself, but if I go to a concert I'm prepaired to smoke passive no matter the venue. It won't kill me. Maybe my point of view is to liberal about stuff like this and I shouldn't push it on others, but in the end I was just disappointed.

Karma literally hit me at Slayer two month ago. So all's good I guess.

Yeah. I have been hit with MANY things at Slayer concerts: Karma; Doc Martens; beer; spit; drum sticks; boobs....Slayer is always sort of the "Great Regulator" in my mind. I wonder if Lemmy and Jeff Hanneman have started writing yet....

I like other genres, too. I just hate how so many people stereotype metal negatively, so I try to spread its true goodness to people.

So, I'm going to follow R.I.P's advice and ask for opinions here. I didn't want to make my 4th or 5th thread on this issue and tick everyone off, especially since this is IT, I promise. Anyways,

Should I get the Spector Legend Classic 4 or the Warwick Rockbass Corvette $$ 4? I have tried both and enjoy the sound of both.

Some things I noticed however:
-Spector feels to be more comfortable when sitting.
-With the Spector, my fingers didn't accidentally graze strings as much as when I did playing the Corvette.
-The Spector has a pretty nice feeling neck.

However, I have read a few of the Spector vs. Warwick threads here and the few posts that addressed the issue say that the Warwick is more versatile. Also, I like the look of the 'Vette more and I want to say that I've come full circle when I get the German made counterpart one day.

Trust me, inspite of everything I've said about the Spector, I LOVE that Corvette. It's my first love. I enjoy the sound of both too.

However, I've also read that the Legend basses are comparable to their American-made brothers and of comparable quality to a lot of high-end basses in general, while Rockbasses sound nothing like German made Warwicks.

So, not to P.O. anyone, but may I have opinions please? If you care to respond, please cover all areas, such as versatility, personal experience whether it be first-hand or second-hand, ergonomics, etc.
