To be fair 29 Palms isn't exactly the "nicest" part of California. Robert Plant DID do a song about the place, though.

I drove out to 29 palms once. ONCE. I had a head start, starting in San Berdoo. And it was in pursuit of some tail. And while the tail was good, aint no tails worth driving out to 29 palms.
That's why you go to Joshua Tree National Park after you're done. It's so cool, some rock band named an album after the place!
Back to the Mexican food...have any Angelenos been to Taco Nazo? Killer fish tacos!

I dont care much for U2, that only makes Joshua Tree sound less cool.

All the ones I knew of have closed down and become Senor Bajas.
The original one at Valley Blvd and Giano is still there and there's a newer one in Walnut across from MSAC.
EDIT: I take that back, the original on Valley near the 605 is still there.
Sweet! The one in Downtown West Covina, the one on Gale in Hac.Heights, and the one in Pomona that used to have bands play are all gone. 
IMO - this is the best Mexican in SoCal, and I've eaten ALOT. It's in the SVF.

This place rocks. It's billed as "Mexico City Style" food. Their guacamole is the best I've had.

This has become one of my favorite joints in South Houston. Taconmadre, Home of the Pinche Burger and some amazing horchata.
My girlfriend and her family are from DF, so I get homecooked Mexican food pretty regularly. It quickly became my favorite food And now its all I want to eat. I'll try and get some pics.
