Definitely Rotosound rounds.

I suggest RS99s if you can be bothered with the fiddly setup procedure.

I have been thinking about the the PSD 99's for a while but never pulled the trigger. I honestly don't mind going through that much works. Actually putting on the ball end sounds like a lot of fun to me.

Seems Roto Swing 66 SS or Ernie Ball Cobalts are the thread favorites. I will be searching for samples after I get out of work to get a an idea of which I will try.

Rotos, DR SS Lo-Riders and La Bella SS are all in the same family in my opinion. With the DRs being a little more refined, the La Bellas have more top end to begin with but when they break in that smothens out and the lower midrange begins to come out more.
