This can do that sound really well, but I use my SV-Pre for a tone that’s more overdriven than my slightly warmed up, just a touch of hair tone (which I get from my Broughton FlipTop). But I do love the SV-Pre!

A number of good options here especially considering the capability to swap tubes for different gain characteristics.
^^^ THIS…Swap out the Tube for a 12AU7. MAGIC!
I recently got a Sushi Box Space Heater and swapped out for a 12AU7 and I like it much better. Adjusted just short of grit, it gives a nice subtle warmth and fatness.
I found the 12au7's raised the UA's noose floor. Maybe even try an ay7.Oops.... I just realized that I swapped the 12AX7 out for a 12AT7.
You might want to try a good compressor like the cali76 instead. “Subtle” overdrive normally just ends up just sounding like clean bass in a full band mix. With overdrive you have to go pretty far over the top before it’s very noticeable in a band mix.Im looking for something to "beef up" my cristal clean class d as an always on. Not really looking for an obvious overdrive, just a subtile something to thicken up the bass and glue the mix. Whats your favourite pedal for that job? +for availability
i just ordered one.I’m my best experience the best way is to get an overdrive with blend and just add a bit back to your clean… I’ve said it before: hot wax sounds better to me tha MANY boutique pedals I’ve tried!
