So yesterday I tried my Dynacord Eminent I amp on my Aggie DB112 cab. That sounded pretty darn good. So now I have two mini rigs.

1200w Why do you say is 1200 watts when is really 600 watts.The Faital PR30012,s are a 300 watt speakers??
My Glasstone Lil G 2-12 cab. It's all I've used cabinet-wise since I got it a couple of months ago. 1200w with a built in dolly, switchable 4/8 ohms by using one or both drivers, weighs 32 lb. and easily hangs with much larger cabs volume-wise. Aprox. 19x16x16. I like the fact that it's about chair height so I can even sit on it. I drive it mainly with my Acoustic Image Focus 1R and also use my Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 and did a couple of gigs with a Walter Woods amber light.
I did a gig in Charlottesville, VA Saturday night. We stopped at midnight. I was on the road by 12:10am. It's easy to pick up and carry and even easier to pull the handle up and push or pull. I haven't heard another cab near it's size and weight that can hang with it. Two basses in a doublebag, two amps in a laptop bag and the cab. Gone, baby, gone.

+1 Given that this brand seems to be doing a good job listening to consumers, I would HIGHLY recommend that they don't use that 'peak' sort of power indication (which is typically used by the cheezy low end brands to impress the children at Guitar Center), and list the spec as 600watts RMS, which while still probably an overstatement (since most cabs start to compress long before their 'thermal power limit), still would be the more standard and 'comparable' spec.
Of course, as you know, this doesn't limit your amp usage to 600 watt RMS amps, since amps rarely put out their full RMS power.

Honesty and at least moderate accuracy always win, and it allows power comparison with other 212's on a more even playing field. Not a huge deal, +1, and even the 600 watt actual thermal limit doesn't really tell you much. However, better always to be relatively accurate with a limited amount of technical info than totally inacccurate with the same amount of info. IMO
Seems like there are very well made cabs that get good reviews. Worth taking the time IMO to get it as right as possible regarding marketing and tech specs.

Well, now he is more accurate and using the spec that 90% of other cabinet makers use. So, hopefully, it will keep someone from choosing this cab over some other because 'it handles 1200 watts!' but rather chooses on things that actually matter.
I agree, dishonesty is typically not the issue, and a lot of guys that 'design' cabinets do not have any particular technical background to really understand this stuff anyway. That doesn't mean they can't build a great sounding cab.
Again, the driver thermal rating is the driver thermal rating. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't use a 1000 watt amp, since it would be rare for that 1000 watt amp to actually put out its full 1000 watts anyway.
No downside to me ever for being a bit more accurate.

About the Glasstone Lill G, here is an update. I ordered mine and it should ship later in the week. As an added bonus Sammie has installed a tilt back option in my cabinet to enhance projection. I had been wondering about this in this small amp. I thought it would be a neat little addition. The guy is a mind reader!! The Lil G being powered by my Orange TB500 should be a potent "mini rig of doom". way easier to transport, and lug around than my AD200b all tube head and 4X10 cab!!

Because I didn't have my own rig at the time I had to borrow from two friends to put this together for a small venue:
Surprisingly it actually sounded pretty darn good - had it corner loaded and needed to pull it out of the corner a bit to cut some lows out of it.

So here's a question for you all. Say all your gear just got stolen or destroyed in a fire. The only thing left is your six string bass that you play death metal, TOOL, Metallica, and RCHP covers on.
You decide to go 100% mini. Your insurance check is coming in because you thought ahead to insure all your gear.
What do you buy? What is the ultimate mini rig? You can't rely on PA support everywhere you go, and your drummer and guitarist are crazy aggressive and loud...
Do you go colorful pre-amp with a separate power amp? Do you go Fearful or LDS boutique on the cab side?
What would you all buy if you were absolutely starting from scratch in building your mini-rig of doom? Is the technology there where you could take a step towards the "Micro-rigs of doom"????
