Mini Rigs of Doom Four

amp.jpg

My new (to me) Ampeg Micro-VR and SVT210AV cabinet. Bought it from a fellow TB'er and it was just delivered today. Sounds just like my old SVT from way back when, only much smaller. And, I can lift it up and move it all by myself :hyper:

It's a good thing I brought my "small" rig last night. We were CRAMMED in a a "stage" not at all meant for an 11-piece funk horn band. The neck of my bass was hanging over the keyboards almost to his microphone! lol

The Berg stack KILLED, of course! Punchy and growly with lots of attitude, I absolutely love the way it sounds with my Jazz bass. Pretty mild settings on the Shuttle and people in the house said they could hear me just fine, and the horns actually wanted me to turn down. lol I was able to make minor EQ adjustments at the bass to dial in great tones for tunes ranging from Michael Jackson to Al Green to Tower of Power.

This rig sounds WAY bigger than it looks.

Here is my newest Mini Rig of Doom. It is not complete, but for now - Acoustic B260 head on top of my Schroeder Mini 10+R.. I am looking into a SWR Baby Blue head instead of the Acoustic. It will be a much better fit for me.. Pic as soon as I can get it to load from my phone.. (Stupid smart phone)

Genz-Benz 9.0 and two Eden 210XSTs. The Edens are out of style but I haven't found anything I like better.

...

I wouldn't worry about the flavor of the day issue at all. The fact that you continue to like your rig is the best endorsement that a piece of gear could have. I think trying to keep up with the flavor of the day would be expensive and frustrating.

Besides, Eden cabinets are still some of the coolest looking cabinets out there.

Here's the coffee house/church rig which can be carried in one trip. B o B (bass on back), pedal board/genz streamie over under strap around neck, and the BNA Audio Greenboy F115 giving me Stretch Armstrong arm (lefty), while coffee or water in right hand.

It sounds fantastic and helps me to refrain from pining about being away from my big boy rig!
