Mini Rigs of Doom-Let's see 'em!l

Here is my mini rig....

-American Audio Power Conditioner
-SWR Grand Prix preamp
-Accusonic 3150 Power amp

-Euphonic audio CXL112-II

This rig puts out a ton of clean volume. Not the deepest sounding setup, but very accurate. I would like to get a QSC PLX power amp eventually. The Accusonic weighs a TON!

Sorry, no pics, but my rig is:

4 space SKB rack with
*Rack mounted Whirlwind power strip top rear mounted
*Shure PGX-14 Wireless // Boss VF-1 FX (side by side)
*ADA MB-1 Programmable Bass Preamp
*Korg DT-1 Rack Tuner
*Roland Fantom XR Synth/Sampler module

Bergantino IP112
Bergantino EX112

(The Roland unit has nothing to do with the bass rig - it's just in the rack and I trigger it with a set of Elka Midi Pedals and or an Alesis Micron)

Before I got the EX112, I was using the IP112 with a Sansamp BDDI and Shure wireless velcro'd to the top - THAT was mini! - and powerful - but I like the stack and it doesn't really take up much more room, so that's what I bring out most of the time.

Goodbye 4-10 and 1-15 cabs.......

I dunno... My new rig is certainly Mini, but it's too sexy to be considered Doom :smug:

Looks very nifty Bryan. I've got about 10 presets built for the VF-1, figured out the MIDI footswitch, and I'm really digging it. I find the pitch mod patches a little tough to use, but the organ sound is wicked.

Cool, Will. I'm working on some pitch shifted patches that are two octaves up myself. Tracking can be a bit iffy, but it's better than on my GT-6B unit.

One thing I haven't checked- can you assign the effects bypass to a MIDI button? I've just been setting unaffected patches to have a quick change to a clean patch, but if I can set the effects bypassed option to a floorboard button I'll use that instead.

Nice! How do you like the pre?

I really like the DB659... After trying a few different ones (as Myron pointed out :smug: , thx), I found out that I favored the V-Type/F1-x/DB659 more than the others. So then I owned the v-type for about 2.5 years (loved it), but there was that last element of the warmth/body that I needed. So, I got off of my butt and tried the F1-x, but lacking the Vol & the Gain (together), I took my chances and bought the DB659 from a TB'er, before sending the V-type on it's way to Sir Bowlus' kingdom of cool carpet.

The DB659 is a bit of a step up for me, w/ the Jensen Transformered DI and the tone stack is similar, but more what I was looking for originally when I bought the V-type.

Everytime I see your rig, it's different. I like this one.

I'll post mine a little later. I guess I'll be the first Accugroove user to post.
Myron,
Haven't seen you around here or ATL for a minute. How are things? How's gig? Wife?

Yeah I have changed up the rig a couple times since that GTG, now it is either an Epifani UL112 or an Epifani T-410 w/ DB659/PLX1602. I'm going to hang with it for a while till we are done paying for our wedding/honeymoon.... which is this Friday.

I guess you haven't seen me because we are both busy. Gotta make that money :)

The wife is good. we have a 3 month old bass player in training now. I guess I have to get him a mini rig of his own. And congrats on the wedding. I wish you well.

Back on topic. I bet the rig sounds great. I will have to come hear it soon before you change it. :)

" 3 month old bass player"
Very Cool.

As for the rig... It's going to be the end of November till I'm back up and running... so I might be in Dec '06 before that rig is fired up again (other than rehearsals).

Good question!!! I am doing the same thing you are right now, just using a blank patch as my clean sound. It doesn't seem to change the tone very much AFAICT. I'm sure there is a way to turn the effects off via switch but I haven't figured it out.
