I was wondering how the Fishman was with fretted electrics. I was just thinking today about getting an ART to run with my Focus.

The Focus replaced a Stewart World 1.2. Power rating is pretty similar, but the Stewart is stereo, and I ran the 2 Acmes from different channels. Still, overall, I was putting about the same power into them. The SA sounds at least as good as the Stewart did, and I think the SA seems a little cleaner at higher volumes. Both are good amps, but as you say, the 3.5 pounds is great. I can carry my whole power rig (the SA, the fishman, the ART, and all the cables) in a portable computer carrying case.

+2 on the Yamaha 1x10's.

I just recently ordered one to use as a cheap lightweight cab to use for home practice and to take to play in churches and small gigs and was planning on getting a large cab for most other stuff... but liked the cab so much (really surprised at how loud the little thing realyl was) that I decided to order another one and use it as my main rig.

As soon as I get my 2nd cab in I'll take a picture of my full rig and post it.

Smokin!!

I had a 4ohm Acme110 with the original Clarus amp a while ago, and it just sounded GREAT with the Rob Allen. Actually, to my ear, the Rob Allen is the only EB I've found that actually sounds very good with the full Focus/Clarus preamp/power amp. The AI front end seems to really work with the organic sound of that bass much better than it does with standard magnetic pickup EB's. It actually made the Allen sound 'more acoustic' than any other combination of amps and speakers I tried.

I recently received my two M-line Wizzy's, and obviously, they sound killer with an iAMP 500/800. But, I looked across the room and got curious. :eyebrow:

The result was this little magical combination. :D

Man, I gotta say, I expected this to sound pretty good, but holy moly! What a fantastic combination!!! :hyper:

Actually, I was not referring to yours, but how's about you ignore the M-line Wizzy on the bottom, then, and consider it 1x12 combo. ;) :p :D

And for the record, as all-tube heads go, the SA200 is on the more petite side. :cool:

I am surprised that nobody pictured that combo! That is now corrected :)

  • 5lb for the Focus 2R
  • 30lb for the Epifani 112
  • Total: 35lb
Power
  • at 8ohm the Epifani gives 350W (RMS)
  • while at same load the 2R gives 450W

Anyways, dream setup for bi- to tri-weekly rehearsal and small gigs.
I am using this with both BG and DB... it's great.
For more power and wind, I simply swap the cab for the Epifani UL410. At 4 ohm, 800W is plenty of reserves!
