There sure are some mighty large "mini-rigs" of doom.;)
As the owner of the mini rig of DOOM that started this thread, all I gotta say is- one man's mini is another man's stack. wow. I'm loving the DIY stuff!

PS-Now let's see some more mini tube rigs! More DOOM, less hi fi!

Here's my UL110/112 mini-stack.
Unfortunately, I don't have any tube stuff anymore.

That's nice. How do you like the Fishman pre with the SA? Have you played a jazz bass or other BG with it.

BTW, nice Rob Allen!

Thanks! I love the Rob Allen, it's an early one, serial number 011.

The Fishman and the SA are a great match when I use the Rob Allen, which has a really hot output. The Fishman lets me pad the input since it has both input and and output levels, and it has a nice warm tone(of course the RA contributes a lot to that). I especially like the DI on the Fishman. Sound Techs always like it.

I don't play a jazz at all, but I sometimes play a G&L L2k and a Lakland 4-94 through this rig. The output from the Fishman isn't hot enough with those basses, though, and I add a ART Tube MP and use it as a line driver.

Pardon my ignorance, but what type of cabs are those?

Those are Acme B1s. Check out the Acme line here
http://www.acmebass.com/

They're a 3 way 10", pretty light, and sound great. But Acmes are really power-hungry, and the B1s don't get real loud no matter what. The Focus SA is putting 1000 watts into the 2 4 ohm B1s in my rig, though, so it's not a problem, plus I rarely have to play real loud. They also have a B2 and a B4.

Interesting...I had heard of the acme cabs but I had never seen them or read much about them. Thanks!

I'm curious how your Focus SA sounds compared to other similarly rated power amps? I'm considering getting one to use with either a Demeter or a Groove Tube preamp. The 3.5 lbs sure is attractive.
