Mini Rigs of Doom-Let's see 'em!l

SWR Grand Prix, QSC PLX 3002, Korg DTR-2
Near flat but colourful sound; 900W/ch @ 4 ohms, 3000W bridged @ 4 ohms; 40lbs.

Acme Low-B2
Gorgeous sound, plenty loud with all this power, crazy deep tight bottom; 50lbs. Add another for LOUD gigs.

Auralex PlatFoam for tiltback/isolation

Rackcase and power amp are 3 years old. Rest of rig dates from 1999.

It wasn't easy :D I have a Raxxess rack shelf I put it on. I unscrewed the front left screw on the bottom of the PJB (the screw size is a M3 6mm), took a M3 8mm (couldn't find a 7mm anywhere :hmm:), nipped the tip off, and rescrewed it into the PJB. That was the only hold that would line up with the many holes the shelf offers. I've though about drilling others to get the other screws in, although it'd be a real crapshoot. I also have it on there with some pretty sturdy double-stick tape strips. Makes for a pretty tight squeeze with the tape in there, but that probably holds it still better.

Cool. I am going to make some sort of DIY rack for my BB (when it arrives) and Focus SA.

OK, I know this was posted a while ago, but is this rig really good, because if so I may do something like this, it fits perfectly with my budget for a new amp. I've heard mixed reviews concerning those behringer heads so I'm curious.

The Ampeg portabass cabinets are IMO great , lightweight , clear tone , great low end.
For the Behringer , IMO its the worst piece of electronic ever built , sounds terrible with most of cabs , horrible quality.
But i would recommend the Portabass

Here is my temporary Mini Rig of doom. Got the Berg EX112 today and the HT112 will be in on Monday. So, I have temporarily paired it with this EA CXL110 that I have. Doesn't sound too bad together, although the EA is more efficient so it overpowers the Berg a little bit.

The Thunderfunk, as always, sounds great.

Great choice on the Bergs. How do you like the thunderfunk with just the Berg?

interesting preamp choice. Is that a nightbass? I remember when they were marketing them a few years back. What are your thoughts on it and how dies it sound in general??

I really like the Nightbass. As a preamp, it is pretty faithful to the sound of my bass. The effects are pretty good too. At least the ones I use (Delay, Flange, Overdrive)The only ones that I absolutely hate are the pitch transpose, which is absolutely useless because it tracks bad and makes a pumping noise. And the Envelope filter, which is too polite for my liking. But considering it is old enough to be in High School, I can't complain too much. I have other things in the works to fix those problems. At least until I can get something better suited for my purposes. I hope to either get an Eventide unit, or use a laptop with Guitar Rig 2. But that is probably a little ways off.

Surprisingly well to me, maybe not so for others :). I would have thought that the lack of a tweeter on the Berg would hinder the sound quite a bit, but it really does sound quite nice by itself with the Thunderfunk. Can't wait to hook up the HT though tomorrow.
