Mini Rigs of Doom-Let's see 'em!l

This is my actual mini (InEar) rig:

Ashdown EVO into one Aguilar GS112 (usually I add second one for gigs where no IEM is used)
on top sits a TL Audio 5051 tube preamp/eq/compressor as my DI

I tried one last weekend and was very disappointed. Very anemic sounding amp. I had the master set at about 75% and the gain at around 50%. All tone controls flat. I plugged in a new MIA jazz bass and had the controls up full. It sounded like a 30 watt amp.

I literally had 5 minutes to try it out. I was on my way elsewhere and saw it in the wiondow. I plucked a bass off the wall, plugged it in and quickly mucked around with it. It was more looks than sound. I was drawn enough by it to want to back and spend more time with it.

It looked great, but didn't deliver the goods.

I woulden't doubt it, after all the head is only 65 watts solid state, definatly doesn't seem enough to drive 2 10's.

Not only that, take a look at all of the pages on this thread of mini rigs or comparable physical dimensions that have a whole lot more to offer for the size/weight consideration.

That rig would be a whole lot more interesting if it were 500 watts rms.

well actually it was sarcasm, hell i'd be glad if it chucked out 25w
and it would mean doom if you took it to a gig.
