I will have my PV1500 amp. I have a Tonehammer Pre- DI, Haven't tried it through that amp, not sure if it will work, could go through the mixer too. I'm sure some one can figure out how to work it. I have plenty of 15's

I've used a TH straight to a power amp with no issues.

I'm also interested in attending a get together. Is there one planned right now? ( of course if I'm welcome ). :D

Greg and Matt are hosting another awesome GTG! :bassist::bassist::bassist:

We had a blast at the last one! This is after Super Bowl and before yard work... what could be a better cure for cabin fever?

Sunday, 2-26-2012, 'The Just-Before-Leap-Year GTG' 2-5 PM

More details to follow...

I'll be doing the communication again, so PM me to get on the list for directions, head-count etc.

See you! :)

Dave

You sure are, PM Dave (ExaltBass) and he will get you all the info you need.

Lakland JO 5

Custom bass I just finished ( this I'll bring for sure just to see what people think )

most everything else I have would already be presented.

I did print out some basic walking bass lines I found in a text book. I think this was two GTG's ago. I'll try to find them and bring them to the GTG.

Can you lead a quick seminar - we could have Dave (exalt) ring a cowbell etc -

As basic as this sounds, I'd like him to do a quick 2 minute on roadie rappin cords - I must own 2,000 on cable and 1/2 are dorked

I believe there's a little lesson from all who attend

Roscoe--- does anyone have a Roscoe they could bring?

GUITAR wiring --- is there anyone who can whack some sense into me- trying to add a blend pot to a Demeter pickup

REMINNNNDER- subscribe to this thread and PM exaltbass ---- invitation logistics are a big part of this

Are you trying to to blend the Demeter with the two Barts like this?

Option 1: Blend pot sweep goes from Demeter only to 50/50 Demeter/Barts (where the Barts are blended in as a single entity) to Barts only.

Option 2: Looking at more of a 5-way switch layout like the switching on a Strat?

Also, what is the current layout of the controls on your bass? You could also post the model and I can check it out myself.

Has anyone got an unloaded 15" cab they'd like to, ummm, unload? I've got an "instrument experiment" that I'd like to do as inexpensively as possible. Just looking for an unloaded box, single driver, 15" preferred. The experiment has more to do with me as a percussionist than as a bassist, but having a little experience with with designing bass cabs gave me an idea.

Did you get the help you needed? I looked at what it takes to add a blend pot and talked to a couple of guitar techs and it doesn't look too difficult.

Look at the stewmac site for an example. You will need a dual linear pot (250k or 500k) with a center detent.

We can talk more at the GTG if you can wait (or PM me and we can just get it done).

One thing that might be nice for someone to do is to bring a 2 channel power amp, a 410 and a 15 so people can see how ineffective the pairing is. I have a pair of SVT410he and an SVT15 and have done this myself. Once you experience it, you wonder why anyone would ever bother with this combination.

I could bring them, but it's a lot to drag out and there is a chance I won't be able to make it to this one.

A TB Mythbusters session!

I could do this (bring 2 different cabs)...

The caviat would be that we could also make the time to to also test a true biamp setup...

I can understand folks saying combining 2 different cabs both receiving the full range as being less than optimal... The truth is that to do it, we should be using dynamically different cabinets and a cross over to optimize their performance.

2 different cabinets standalone isn't fully a test as both would have to have the same `specifications.
