[Minneapolis/MN Thread] Midwestern Comradarie

It should be a fun night. We know the other band for years but this is our first time sharing a gig.
It would be great if you guys can come out. Tim saw us at the Schooner last Fall. Thursday should be better (in many ways).
The Schooner is closer to my house. I've gigged there once. It can be an easy place find yourself in the middle of a fight. I pretty much took my breaks on stage.

Nordic Surf. They only play out a few times a year and are a pretty much note for note surf cover band. We only have a couple of songs in common and even those we don't play them the same.
Yep. That is the place. It was one of the few places where drunks would come up on stage and want to sing with us (we are an instrumental band).

So far, I'm planning on bringing my BEAD bass, '92 Martin/Sigma AEB Bass (For Sale), GenzBenz Shuttle 6.0 amp and Gries 1x15 Neo cab.

Still up in the air about coming. Have a gig Friday night and a scheduled rehearsal for Sunday. I'll see how it goes on Friday, we might skip the rehearsal.

Can someone bring a 2 10" cab or recommend a smaller cab? I played at our church on Sunday and my wife suggested I get something smaller

I had the volume very low and most of the bass rolled off on both the bass and amp. I was told it sounded great but not what I'm used to.

I use a 1x10. There's no drummer so it works well for me. I don't shop commercial cabs much. I understand that there's not much out there for 1x10's. A 1x12 would probably work well, too. I've got the parts for one of these. I'll try to slap it together before the GTG. I'll probably go with a simple build just to get it done.
Even though I've got the cabs from Parts Express, I'd rather build something up that's a little larger for better low end handling. I've got one of the S2010 woofers in a 1973 Traynor 20 watt tube combo amp. It sounds nice. If I get it done and you'd like to borrow it to see how it works for you, you're welcome to, but I do have plans for the parts (other than the cab) so I'd want it back.

I should warn you that the price of the S2010 skyrocketed a month or two after Duke's article. They're closer to $140 now, I think, but slowly coming back down.
