[Minneapolis/MN Thread] Midwestern Comradarie

I bought a SC Bass120 brand new back in 1973 (or 4). Pretty cool amp, stolen long ago, wish I still had it. The tone controls were active, not Marshally at all. I remember there was a guy who played bass in the local band Skogie and the Flaming Pachucos whe played through a SC 200plus. Great amps! Clean and loud like a Hiwatt but, as I said, the tone controls were unique.

I've heard some things about those tone controls, that's why I'm intrigued. :bassist:

I'm going to try and make it if I can get the time open from work-i'll be coming back from a Portland vacation a few days earlier though...but I would like everyone to know that my birthday is on the 15th so if you all want to bring gifts for me to the gtg/Sm, that's cool too

How many watts you after?

I'm not too particular. I want something for my band room at home. I want to be able to plug in my drum machine, 4 track recorder, laptop, mics, etc. I wouldn't gig it really, but I would like the option to be able to.

My two 15/6s have finally had their finish applied and "safety" hardware put on.

I also have recently added several cool effects including the Soundblox Distortion pro and Groove Regulator 2. There are some crazy noises to be had. I'll probably share some come the 25th.

Should we all bring a bunch of stuff that we want to try and unload swap meet style?

What time on the 25th hdracer?

Bring everything you want. I have a lot of room. You may want to bring a table and stands. I have plenty of hang tags and sticker tags to price things.

I was thinking of 2 ish till...?

I sent Tony from Planet Bass a e mail and invited him to come by seeing that his store is not far from my shop. I plan on swinging by American Guitar and asking Cory if he wants to come too.

Should we start a new thread just for the GTG/Swap-meet? I noticed that there is a few other threads just for GTG's. Maybe we could get people from western Wisconsin, eastern North & South Dakota even southern Manitoba & Ontario that would not normally see this thread.

I was thinking of printing up some flyers and putting them up at music stores around town to round up some new people too. I need to write Paul and see if I can use the TB logo on it.

I am open to ideas from everyone.
Lets rock this one out!

I'd have some reservations about this becoming a general public/commercial endeavor. I don't know that I'd feel comfortable having my stuff spread out without knowing who is roaming around. It would make it awkward for me to roam around and see what others are offering. I'd probably still come, but not bring the interesting stuff I'm not trying to sell - Lightwave hybrid, PF-500.

I think a separate thread is a good idea - However, I agree that this should be a TalkBass GTG... no problem with personal guests. I have no problems about Tony from Planet Bass or Cory from American Guitar and Band. Most of us have had experience with each other and making it public it up is opening it up for some wild cards.
