Hmmm - that's really an interesting thought. The pickups are J/MM of unknown province. Like I said, the single coil J buzzes pretty badly. Since I tend to favor the neck pick on a bass, it's got to go. I'd like to have a coil switch on at least the MM pickup. I have barely looked and didn't see if the MM has four wires or just two coming out of it.

My plans have been pretty plain vanilla: Two dual coils from SGD, who did the pickup in my Artcore, with coil switches into a passive J Bass control structure. The varitone though, hmmm...

My New Boss where I work (LSI Corporation) lives in Rochester but is coming up to the cities with his wife for their anniversary. He's asked if I knew of any good music venues to suggest. He's looking for familiar 70's, 80's, 90's etc. top 40 rock.pop stuff. I believe they're going to be staying in the downtown Minneapolis area...

Any of you guys playing that stuff in the area or have any "hot tips" on where to suggest for him?

I mentioned I would keep him out of the clubs with chicken wired stages and am not looking for this suggestion to him to be in any way "career limiting" (to mine as well....LOL...)

I second the commotion from others as the GTG being "the bomb". Great bunch of low enders here in MN. Blessed and thankful to be getting plugged in....

Are your nuts better?

I can always depend on you to keep it classy! ;)

I'm still tweaking, but this bass is going to be a good companion. I'm planning on using it at church tomorrow, even though it has flats except for on the D string. In fact that may become my new signature.

I'm debating on the pickups. I'm sure I could do better, but They sound OK. Well, the MM bridge pickup sounds OK. The neck pickup is currently a complete loss to me. Maybe after shielding it will be useful. $200 for pickups? I'll let these grow on me for a bit first.

I have too many cases. Anyone out there need a gig bag? I have a Fender 60th Anniversary bag in really excellent shape that I'd let go cheap (NO shipping) and a old beat up Pedulla hardcase that doesn't want to fit Fender, but probably will work for other 34" scales. It works, and will take abuse... FREE to anyone who'll pick it up.

edit: Pedula case: The inside dimensions are 13-1/2 x 46 and the compartment for the body is 13-1/2 x 20 and the case is rectangular (like old school Fender/G&G etc.)

PM me if anyone is interested - Dave AS OF NOW - IT APPEARS THAT BOTH BAGS ARE SPOKEN FOR - WOW! That was fast! :)

I've got one more bass than cases and I need to visit you next week to return your nut files anyway. Let's work out a price for the gig bag.

I'll call you or you can e-mail me kraigo ** ignore this bit and the stars ** -at- bitstream -dot- net
