misrepresentation in a classified ad

There's an ad in the classifieds right now for a bass, claiming that the retail price is "around $3500". I know for a fact, having recently purchased the same model, that the true retail price is closer to $2300.

I know sellers are allowed to ask any price they want, and we aren't allowed to comment on seller's asking price in the thread. But this strikes me as a misrepresentation of a material fact. Are we allowed to comment or notify a moderator? Or should I just "let the buyer beware"?

Well, you do want to be a little careful there, Jim. If $2300 is the maunfacturer's suggested retail price, then sure. But if the MSRP is $3500 + or - , but you can get it at a discounted price of $2300 at GC, MF, Sam Ash etc etc, then he hasn't really misrepresented anything, right?
