it’s pretty much what i asked for. the checking is nice. paint is thin. i can see a bit of grain at the forearm contour.

MJT finished bodies?

I ordered a Shoreline Gold P body in mid April.
I was told 10-14 weeks. My project manager was terrible. I would email him questions. He would answer the first question and ignore the others.
A week after ordering the SLG, I ordered a second body. A Candy Apple Tangerine 54 P body.
On that one I specifically asked Matt Jenny if they had any bodies "in progress". Meaning stock bodies or bodies intended for their Ebay store. I was flexible on color.
He sent me pictures if 3 raw, unfinished bodies to choose from. He even waived the lightweight upcharge.
So that body was in stock/in house.
When I was assigned a PM, Payton was his name. I told him twice, do these bodies separately.
The SLG body was being made. I told him start the 54. Ship separately.
That never happened.
Unfortunately, no one else does the relic finish as well as MJT, that I know of.
I'm not good at waiting, but the SLG came out beautiful.
I hope to have the CAT 54 later this week.
IF I do another MJT project, I would request another PM.

i had the same project manager. frustrating.
i would say diligence and riding them hard for updates is what yields results. patience just yields living with what you get. i will post pics when i get a chance to shoot.
I have the same PM right now. I’m just in the beginning stages, still waiting for the body blank from Wildwood which takes 6 weeks I was told. Guess I won’t hold my breath.
I’ve got a MJT body married to a 1982 AVRI ‘62 P neck. It’s a very sweet player.
I have 6 basses with MJT bodies plus a few extra bodies set aside for different projects. my experience with them has been fabulous in terms of quality and customer service. Wish the prices could be a little lower... but hey don't we all?
Yeah... I had the same thing... I would add 4 weeks onto the scheduled completion of any order... the workmanship is definitely worth it.
Great lightweight body took about 6 weeks a few years ago. Great work by Mark. The neck nitro and worn in feel is amazing.As others have stated the workmanship is great.
I had an early 70s jazz hippie refin that he nailed with this work .

My MJT basses... L to R - '54 replica with Wildwood body and Mucikraft neck, Fender AO '60s Jazz, Wildwood P bass body with '62 AVRI neck. Took about 6 months to get them.
I was told that my body is in the “curing phase” right now and that it will be going to finishing and buffing in a couple weeks. If that is the case, then we are looking at 14 weeks.
I’d imagine that if these guys can keep production around 3 months that most people would be satisfied. It seems like a reasonable timeframe.

How do you like the Wildwood P Bass? That’s what I have coming in sunburst as well.
