MLB 2018

I liked your post for everything above the second picture.:D I have noticed that some Brewers fans--certainly not all, and not any that I've seen here--are quite salty these days about the Cubs. An inferiority complex, perhaps? (For the record, I think Milwaukee is a lovely town, and the design of their art museum is cool as hell!)

It's not an inferiority complex, it's a reaction to the bandwagon Cub fans. They are obnoxious and rude. I know that they are in the minority, as I've met many die hard Cub fans. I've been to Wrigley for a Brewer game, and the fans were incredible. But up here, we see the bandwagon fans much more often. Going to Miller Park when the Cubs are in town is not a fun experience.

Unfortunately, too many Brewer fans are acting the same way. As for me, I'm much more salty about the Cardinals. But that's another story.

I feel sorry for Milwaukee fans. For years, they have been bounced around - supported the Braves when then came there, then lost them after a few years. Then they take away the Brewers' identity by changing leagues. Despite the mixed record, they have always supported the team, and going to games there is a great time - great people.

The Cubs starting pitchers may be starting to come around. Hendricks, Chatwood, Lester, and Darvish (!) have each had a strong outing in the past four games. Quintana's on the mound tomorrow, and he's generally done well vs. the Brewers. Then again, the Cubs have looked great against the Brewers thus far this season, winning 5 of 6 and allowing only four runs in those wins. They're going to have to start playing well against everyone else (they're 8-9 vs. Not Milwaukee) if they want to go somewhere this year.

Yeah, the Brewer bats go cold against the Cubs. It's really rather frustrating. Oh well, maybe they'll split this series?

The Pirates jumped out to a hot start that was fun. Now they've gone cold and are starting to circle the drain already.

I made the original comment above while the Pirates were down at home 4-0 in the fourth inning. Then it went to 5-0. Then something clicked for the Pirates and they came storming back with six unanswered runs, including three in the bottom of the ninth, to take it 6-5 in 11.
Well, it was probably more of a Cardinal meltdown than the Pirates suddenly clicking. Pitching went sideways and a couple errors in the ninth allowed the three runs.

A reasonably decent game by the gIANTS tonight. Still, TOO MANY MISTAKES! And too many injuries. Mac was a scratch again tonight after coming on strong (but Dorky's did well, yeah, I shouldn't call him that but I can't help it)

(edit, it was Holland) got lit in the 4th (I believe) but they battled back. Something they are not very good at. If they could just put it all together........

NAH, I AGREE, ain't gonna happen!

A bad matenee game, a good night game.
Y'all here about Sandoval? He pitched the 9th against the Dodgers - was hitting 89 on the gun with a 70mph curve. Three up three down in under three minutes.

I didn't hear about it. Is that the game where they got smoked? I usually turn it off when it gets out of hand.

3 series wins in a row for the gIANTS. Hey Giants, see what happens when you actually score runs? lolz.

Saw it on Sportscenter this morning. He pitched the ninth. It was funny to watch the hitters. He had some actual good stuff, and was working so quickly they couldn't step out.

32 years ago today, Clemens struck out 20 Mariners.

And today, the Mariners scored in the double digits for the second straight game. The Mariners? Who do they think they are, anyway? Good thing they are scoring a whole lot of runs, because they are giving up more than one or two lately as well. It's not baseball for purists, but they are winning. I can give up being pure for wins. Heck, I'll even tolerate the DH if the Mariners win games. Two back of the Astros, and it's almost May! That's pretty exciting for a Mariners fan.
